Is there any way to rise the number of corpses in the levels ?
Hello, yes it's me again XD I'm sorry if someone already asked that, but I would like to know if there's a file in the Left 4 Dead folder where I can rise the number of dead bodies which keep laying around. I mean if there's a horde comming towards me and I shoot 20 to 30 infected and at the end just 5 to 10 of them keep laying on the ground I ask me " Huh, where's the rest?" . I already googled it and some people say that you can change it in the configuration file, although this just have been in left 4 Dead 2 forums, so I don't know if this would work for 1 as well. And I can't find the configuration file either *blushes* Could someone tell me where I could find it or if there is an other way to do so?

Get a better graphic card
Nino_Chaosdrache Mar 23, 2013 @ 9:47am
I have a good graphic card. I have an Asus HD 7770 and can play Battlefield 3 fluently at ultimate settings, so my system isn't the problem.

The game is made like this for performance purposes..back then in 2007-2008, computers were not as badass as today; well, anyway, not everyone had one of them. So Valve had to make bodies disappear after more others fell to the ground so the game won't start lagging and maybe crash.

Maybe you can change this but, I have no idea how to..

I call bull crap on this. There's no way an HD 7770 can run BF3 at ultimate settings. Not unless you're playing at 800x600 resolution or something.

No I play on highest resolution and highest settings

Check this variables, use console.

cl_ragdoll_limit : 20 : Maximum number of ragdolls to show (-1 disables limit)
cl_ragdoll_maxcount : 8 : Clients will only show this many ragdolls overall
cl_ragdoll_maxcount_boss : 1 : Clients will only show this many boss ragdolls
cl_ragdoll_maxcount_generic : 15 : Clients will only show this many generic infected ragdolls
cl_ragdoll_maxcount_special : 3 : Clients will only show this many special ragdolls
cl_ragdoll_maxcount_survivor : 4 : Clients will only show this many survivor ragdolls

Those cvars are blocked just like cl_fov, fps_max, e.t.c. Though they still exist in engine.

And some of them linked to effect detail settings. Ex: cl_ragdoll_maxcount = 24 on max; 8 on medium; 4 on low.

Thank you^^ I will try if this works when I change these settings
Nino_Chaosdrache Apr 7, 2013 @ 2:26pm
I tried this with the console commands, but when I write for example cl_ragdoll_maxcount_generic : 15 : Clients will only show this many generic infected ragdolls the console says unknown command
tRОХu Apr 7, 2013 @ 11:02pm
Type in console without ":"
cl_ragdoll_maxcount_generic 15
manul Apr 8, 2013 @ 5:20am
Nino, this won't work via console by usual way. To see it's current state type "help" before the command.

You need to modify them via cfg file, and you need to modify the server sided ones too via sourcemod. As far as I remember, even changing them has no effect on the game.
