It's good to see that Deep Silver is actually trying to support Linux.

We are always in need of more AAA games.

I've seen the news as well. Is it really this easy to port a AAA game to Linux?

My PC probably won't handle it at the moment, but I'll end up buying it anyhow if it releases... Here's hoping we see many more from Deep Silver.

mmmmm, i have my doubts, this game is far from being a perfect technical experience for a lot of users on windows alone, it still needs work and the new dlc is still coming out, why would they turn to linux and mac which combined are like 3% of steam users if that much and spend the probably low resources they have, that doesnt make sense and i doubt it would give profit to such a small company as 4A, in fact they would probably lose money.

Lose money from more people buying their game? Care to explain how they would lose money?

Because they have to mobilize resources (time and money) to converting the game, testing, debuging etc, and since theres such a small linux user database on steam, less than 1% (- the people who wont buy the game) i dont know how they would profit there (remember its a small company with low resources). They should fix the game for windows and develop their dlc, then if things turn out good develop for other platforms (my op of course). Im all in favour of multiplatform releasing but not every company is resourceful like valve that can convert every game to platforms mostly not used for gaming, do you think they are making profit with that, mmm i have my doubts, its more a fan service than anything else, because they can and of course want to be in the front :)

Given that a multiplatform client like Steam distribution , porting DX9 to OpenGL is damn easy once you have the OpenGL API from PS3 for render.

mmmm, i dont know if a game as complex as metro last light is that easy to convert, it doesnt even work properly for many people on windows, most games valve is converting to lynux and mac like halflife 2 and left 4 dead are still in beta versions for months and theive been constantly updated. Well im not a programmer so i cant say for sure, but converting complex 3d games to these platforms doent seem that straight forward. Well i hope they do anyways
