Nexus Mod Manager not activating mods
I've been having this problem for quite sometime and I've searched forever and i can't find a fix to it.

Basically When i try to mod Fallout 4, the mod downloads to NMM but when i go to activate it, it wont activate or install to my game. I've uninstalled both Fallout 4 and NMM multiple times and its never been fixed.

My files for making mods work is fine I've done those a thousand times as well?? please help me I don't want to potentially ruin my save files by manually downloading mods.

Did you follow the instruction on the nexus webpage on how to prepare fallout 4 to accept mods?

Theres a few ini. files you have to edit in your data folder for mods to work and alot of mods you need to extract directly to your data folder instead of using nmm

I thinks the ini file is the only thing that can cause this, you never run any mods or they stopped working?

How to enable modding
Navigate to your Fallout 4 Folder at the following location "Documents/My Games/Fallout 4"
Within this folder you'll find a number of .ini files.
Open (or create, if missing) Fallout4Custom.ini with your favourite text editor (we use Notepad++).
Add the following lines to your Fallout4Custom.ini
[Archive]
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
sResourceDataDirsFinal=
Save and close Fallout4Custom.ini

Edit: Just saw that IronGoat posted the same thing, Sry.

Another tip is to make sure you're running NMM as adminstrator.
That solves a lot of problems.

i've edited the ini. files and run as administrator and i still can't activate certain mods. i even temporarily disabled my anti virus. mods like pontail hairstyles by azar work but not CBBE or commonwealth shorts.

Necroing a thread is not usually going to get players on this forum to help you. Using the forum search function is great to find answers you're looking for but, if the threads you find don't help fix your problem, start a new thread of your own. Explain Exactly what your issue is and what you have done on your own to try and solve it. Then wait a while and you will find that players here will try to help if they can. Try Google to start with. Second, go to the mods nexus page and Read everything about the mod and how to install it. CBBE is simple and straight forward. If After you have researched and tried Everything you found it still doesn't work, then start a thread here. We are willing to help as long as you have at least TRIED to help yourself first.

Never used the forums before, my bad

Since this was jesus-ed, cbbe wasn't showing in game for me and I was searching most of the last few days and tried everything I could think of that would work. In the end bodyslide stopped working and I had to reinstall Fallout and then it worked again but the bodies still wouldn't show in game so I found some thread buried somewhere I can't remember but download fallout 4 configuration it's by bilago or something similar on nexus if you put "bil" in the author search filter it should be the first result. Follow the instructions to install that then once installed start it from steam which opens the new launcher, click settings and it looks scary as hell but scroll down until you find [Archive] bInvalidate it will be set to 0 most likely and you change it to 1 save and launch and it should be working, it did for me anyways.

He did use the search function, clearly, and using this thread to ask his question was just fine. The only person who did anything wrong was the person posting the spam "nice necro".

A lot of my mods were not enabling but running as admin fixed it for me. Are yours enabling and then disabling when you restart the manager or never enabling to begin with?
Luna May 27, 2017 @ 1:26pm
No, I run it as an admin all the time and Mod Manager has worked perfectly for me before, Skyrim and Fallout. The mods just won't enable. It only works when I redownload and reinstall them but that I have many hundred mods and I don't want to do that!

Do you have more than one hard drive?

EDIT just checked your profile, which says you have an SSD and a hard drive, so yes you do have more than one. Open NMM, hit tools, hit change virtual folders and make sure the path is on the same drive as your game, if it isn't, move it to the same drive.
