The shield will be able to be equipped as armor and it’ll be displayed when either no weapon is equipped or a one-handed melee weapon is equipped. Then what you’ll need to do is hold a key to raise the shield, but you won’t be able to melee attack when the shield is up. The shield will then convert damage into durability lost on the shield, with a multiplier. You’ll also move slower when the shield has been raised.

We definitely plan to keep supporting the game with new content, new features, and updates post-release pretty much the same as we are pre-release! It’s just how we roll ;). This will probably be as close to an MMO as you’ll find in a premium title! :D

These are going to be around Early November, for the Swamp and Snow biome specifically. That will also come with the Boss Arenas for the Broodmother and the Megapithecus! There are still some more caves beyond that which will come later on, those caves will be a lot tougher and present survivors with an extreme challenge.

We certainly can. Instead of the Boss simply appearing in the overworld when the Tribute is spent, there will be a teleportation visual effect which will spiral down from the obelisk and teleport anyone standing on the pad around the terminal into the Boss Arena. This Boss Arena is completely disconnected physically from the ARK overworld. The Boss will then proceed to dramatically enter their Arena, and will fight to the death against any brave survivors who dare enter their lair. When the boss is dead, survivors are given a few minutes to collect their winnings and are then teleported back to the Overworld. However they are able to select a Bed or Sleeping Bag to return to a location of their preference, so that they’ll be able to avoid being clobbered by an awaiting Tribe :p. Whilst a group is fighting in the Boss Arena, the Tribute pad is surrounded by a force-field so no other tribe can access it or teleport to the Boss Arena at the time. There is an overall timer on the Boss Fight after which everyone in the Boss Arena is killed, and note that you cannot build in the Boss Arenas either. They have been specifically designed to cater to and expand on the mechanics of fighting each boss, with appropriate specialized environmental hazards and minion support ;). -- Just wait ‘till you see the 4th one! >:)

The problem with creating a profanity filter is that it is inevitably relatively easy to foil, it’s subjective and it also requires us looking up tons of awful words and phrases on Urban Dictionary, a mentally scarring experience. However we understand the importance of one, so what we will do is provide the functionality for server admins to create their own profanity-filters, they’ll be able to feed into their own text file for words they do not want to see in their game!
