Weird sound static....

I like the new update.. but I'm still getting the weird sound thing and I've tried the fixes to no avail.. it's constant when I'm walking around or flying. stops when I'm in the galactic thingie... idk.. just sucks.. makes it unplayable.. it's a VERY irritaing noise. Anyone have the same thing?

I'm pretty sure I remember this being a bug at launch. Haven't heard anything about it lately, so I assumed it was patched out.

Right now the official recommendation is to uninstall any mods you have. Unofficially, If you don't have mods, check the common issues thread and search the older tech support section threads.

You might also want to officially report this to HG if you don't get it fixed, so they can look into it.

We're currently missing the more tech minded members of the community, but they should pop back in with the new patch, so you might get some help there.

Got it as well, already reported it to HG but the more (among the affected) who do so the better.

Same kind of problem here. Sounds like static or some constant digital noise that plays quite loudly over all other sounds in the game. Happens when walking or flying n stops when the pop up mentions to push circle to boost while flying or when i go into inventory. Tried restarting game, n don't have any mods. The sound is really too annoying to deal with, so I switched from my normal mode game to creative to test n didn't have that sound at all. Soooo basicly feel like my original saved game is broken, n now I have to start from scratch which would be irritating. I kept my copy of NMS, n because of this patch wanted to give it another go but I can't even sit through n play it without getting a headache.

Same here and I'm on PS4. No mods (obviously). Only adding this here to establish that it's a cross-platform occurrence. Similarly, this sound only started with the Foundation patch, and just as noted above, starting a new Creative game results in a static-free experience.

I'm going to soldier through for now but it's pretty irritating. And I was so happy for the new stuff and I don't want to play Survival or Creative right now.

Same problem here, 2 years and many patches later. Man it's an irritating noise.

So I figured this out yesterday by accident. If it's the same weird, whiney, digital static I've been experiencing, it's tied to the base building quest. As soon as I select another quest to follow in the log, the sound dissapears. (I'm also on the PS4)

I get this weird rushing sound when I turn on the cloaking device. Sometimes it gets stuck on even when I'm not cloaked. Usually recloaking for a few seconds fixes it. Quite annoying though.
