System button not working and no battery indicator !!??
I apologize for my bad English I'm French. So The HTC Vive worked fine with my PC's brother and I don't know why with my pc when I press the system button the dashboard doesn't show up. The system button works fine with camera and other stuff it just not want the dashboard to show up. Also there is no battery indicator on my controllers. I already try these :
  • Reboot my PC and SteamVr.
  • Run as admin vrdashboard.exe.
  • Uninstall and reinstall SteamVr and Vive using this website[www.vive.com].
  • Update all my firmware devices.
  • Verify cache of SteamVr in Steam.
  • Try using beta SteamVr.

All of these not worked for me. Here an image to see how the controllers looks like : https://postimg.org/image/w0w09i85r/.
And here my pc specs :
  • OS: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 64-bit
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960
  • CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6600k CPU @ 3.50GHZ (4 cores)
  • RAM: 16.0 GB

I know my GPU doesn't meet the recommended spec but games are working fine with it. So is there someone who had the same problems ?
Edit: I see that I have "Dashboard Off" in my SteamVr settings how can I turn it on ? "Enable VR Dashboard" is check.

In settings/applications I see Vive Dashboard, Steam.exe, vrcompositor.exe and vrmonitor.exe But only Vive Dashboard is check. If I check the other and quit settings then return in settings only Vive Dashboard is check again but I can uncheck Vive Dashboard. And yes Steam is running while I use steam vr.

I contacted the support but it seems that even they can't find a solution to my problem. I will come back if I find a solution with them.

Ok what worked for me is to rename the two files named SDL2.dll ( by SDL2.dll.old for exemple) in C:\Windows\System32 and in C:\Windows\SysWOW64. But now I have a green screen when I try to view my desktop from within SteamVR.

Turn off your front facing camera or lower the resolution to 30 mHZ.

I solved the green screen problem by going to Steam / Settings / In-HomeStreaming / Advanced Host Options and unchecking Enable hardware encoding. The problem was that I had two screens on my PC.
