CHANGES TO THE WAR SPOILS SYSTEM
Finally, moving to fix it.....

CLOSED ALPHA - CHANGES TO THE WAR SPOILS SYSTEM

After significant community feedback regarding CoH2's current War Spoils system, we are pleased to announce that a new proposed system is now ready for the community to test. This new system is designed to address the following major community concerns:

Duplicates cluttering inventories and having no value
Randomness with the system and lack of transparency on how it works
Frustrations with trying to earn a specific item
Pay-to-Win sentiments

We are currently accepting applicants for a Closed Alpha test of this new system and encourage all to apply. We will be selecting a pool of approximately 200 players for the first phase of testing from a cross-section of players to get an accurate representation of the community as a whole.

The first phase of testing will begin on February 23rd. As the closed alpha progresses we will be continually adding new applicants to the test group until the alpha test ends on March 8th. We feel the community’s feedback is crucial at this stage of development of the new system and we look forward to hearing your opinion on what has been created thus far.

To apply to participate in this closed alpha, please Sign up Now

last time they said they were gonna fix it. They instead give us custom items which made custom game even more frustrating.

they are going to fix it after the games almost dead? I played forever with the crappy system and just ingored how much of a utter fail it is, now that the player base is nothing what it was they are going to fix the system. awesome, im excited...

Considering that despite all evidence to their contrary their long running mantra has been "working as intended", you'll forgive me if I'm not a bit skeptical. After all, when Bioware responded to their master-work Mass Effect III ending being called garbage, they responded with a dlc that was just a slap in the face.

In other words, I'll believe this when I see it for myself. There is so much broken, and so much time wasted in this game they better vastly increase the chance of getting a drop. I still hold that you should get one drop per match, at least. With a second based on time played (every three hours), and a third based on performance. Also, duplicates should be removed for vanity items and only happen with bulletins. It's nothing but a wasted drop otherwise. And for heavens sake, add victory strikes to the ingame storefront. And I am sick and tired of getting US/Soviet/UK/Wehr drops when all I play are OKW (barely have any bulletins for them), so I am glad that is finally being addressed.

They said they'd fix it like 2 years ago don't hold your breath on that one.

As I recall, Noun's exact (and now infamous words) were "Working as intended", which is why (in my belief) they changed who the community leader was shortly after, due to the napalm-grade firestorm that errupted from that very phrase.

It is worse when you win the same type of game and 2 of the opponents that played the worst get tripple drops.

Drops are based on time played, not winning or loosing.

What does you mean in "time played" ?
♔ Lonepine ♔ Feb 20, 2016 @ 1:31pm
It should be:

Related to time played without dropping out/quitting
No Duplicates
Spoils related to faction you are playing (or most played)

How hard would that be to fix?
Blackhammer Feb 20, 2016 @ 2:00pm
My take on war spoils:

1. Should only drop for the faction you are currently playing
2. You should see a bar which fills up you showing you when next drop will happen (because it exists, you just don't see it represented visually). The moment it fills up you obtain a drop and it's set to 0 % again. Every game you play it fills up calculated strictly by the time you spent playing - this counters drop farmers nicely.
3. Duplicate bulletins - yes, because they actually do stack with each other but no longer after you get 3 of the same type
4. Duplicate commanders, skins - NO
5. Existing duplicates should be, ideally re-rolled for new drops (won't happen, too much loss for Sega) or kept to use in the point 6 system
6. You should be able to use any items you no longer want to boost your drop bar so you get new drops faster (ideally a rare commander would get you a new drop instantly, a bulleting might only increase it by 10 %, a skin by 35 % etc.).
7. Of course I would like trading but that just won't happen, it would destroy Sega's profit.

All your 7 points will destroy Sega's profit.

Not really. Point 7 - yes. Point 5 - yes. But all the other ones not so much :)
