This port from the Nintendo 3DS offers a good mystery storyline [especially during your 1st time playing it], a mix of new characters aside of the main ones (Chris and Jill), a good horror themed both visuals and ambiences (being in an empty cruise ship in the middle of the sea at night with lots of creatures lurking around), overall its a solid package of a port.

This game offers 2 mode : Campaign and Raid mode (campaign part with arcade element on it) and also 3 different difficulity : Casual-Normal-Infernal, at first the gap between difficulity is not really noticable, but during the final boss fight. it really shows. The combat mechanic in this game is okay, but the dogde system could be difficult to 'master' (you got to learn the timing and predict movement of the creature). The fact that some creatures could one-shot you could also be such a challenge (or annoyance) so yeah, git gud scrub.

The characters in this game is okay (especially on the pair of gag character on some of the episodes. Chris and Jill do their work just fine, though i feel like they're kind of a bit 'dumber' on this one instead of them in RE5), not to mention they are kinda written "on the script" rather than written realistically, (meaning that some of the storyline is quite inconsistent).

The achievement in this game splits between both campaign and raid mode, while the campaign might be manage-able (well, you might go a little rage on the "complete on infernal diff"), the raid mode achievement might be very difficult to accomplished (since its kinda designed for coop playing rather than solo play in which you can also do (not to mention that the online player of this game is almost zero))

This game also has quite a various problem : [1] the AI partner doesn't help much or do damage like RE5 (they mostly act like a distractor or a 'friend' for the sake of the story) [2] The Dogde system while seems crucial on the game, is very hard to do and seems very unreliable most of the times [3] The charge melee attack takes quite a time to do (in compare to RE4 and RE5 simple button finisher) and most of the time abrupted (either by hunter lunge attack or grabbed by them oozes monster) [4] The first boss in this game is quite very unforgiving to 1st time player (chainsaw monster in a room with infinite coming oozes monster), its like you're expected to die a lot of time just by minor mistake (getting grabbed on, got trapped, or just swarmed)

Conclusion? This game is a good port of a Resident Evil game (from N3DS). It brings the good horror ambience like RE4 with good combat mechanic like RE5.
fans of the Resident Evil series definitely should try this game.

The Great - The Looping level design, the environments (specifically Queen Zenobia), the graphics (great for a 3DS game), increased survival horror focus, the concept of the story, the enemy design (i like that the final boss is just an underwater variation of the Tyrant)
The Neutral - The dodge system, the genesis, the episodic structure (i'm okay with episodic division but sub-chapters can be immersion breaking due to their unequal lengths)
