SCX file format document for Version 1.23

I was wondering if you guys would provide us with a document similar to this one https://github.com/apreiml/genieutils/blob/master/doc/scx_format.txt . There are a bunch of open source tools for editing scenarios that rely on this document but wont work anymore because of updated file format. There are a lot of scenario designers that are begging for an updated version of AOK Trigger Studio. Cheers

An updated technical document for SCX files version 1.23 is all we need to update Trigger Studio for AOEHD.

Yes, we really need this! Making scenarios without Trigger Studio is not something I recommend. It takes ages, lacks a lot of cool tools that Trigger Studio offers and it laggs when dealing with massive amount of triggers (if one even has time to make that many by hand...)

Hmmm, looking at that document, I guess the Effects list has been extended?

Maybe a better question: has Trigger Studio always been broken for HD or has it been since a recent update?

Hey Cysion! Trigger studio stopped working with the update that brought the new effects (change unit range/armour) to AoF (they were still bugged in aoehd's scenario editor). Trigger Studio definitely needs to be updated to include the new effects but the first error I get as I load a scenario created by AOEHD happens to be with the disables, which comes early on in the loading process, well before the triggers. Also, after examining the difference between 2 scenario files, one being saved with 1.0c and the other AOEHD, there seems to be slight differences in various parts of the file but with my limited hacking skills, I wouldn't consider trying to figure out what has moved and changed. Somebody might be able to work it out, but for me personally, I'd need a document like the above before I started trying to update trigger studio...

Also, I'd like to add that it is possible to load in Trigger Studio scenarios that had been saved by AoC 1.4RC, even if they include new effects which trigger studio doesnt support such as change unit armour. This leads me to believe that it is actually other changes to the SCX format which is preventing trigger studio from loading scenarios saved by AOEHD.

Okay thank you mantis, I'll see if I can get some more information on this from the devs (we also use TS for the AoF campaigns, so would be nice to solve it :D)

Mantis is correct. Trigger Studio worked fine with HD Edition before the new effects. UserPatch 1.4 scenarios load just fine, although the effects are swapped to the the SW:GB effects in Trigger Studio. Seems to be a problem reading the data, as the format has changed.

We really need this to be able to create scenarios for HD Edition, it's a pain the ass to create thousands of triggers by hand and organizing them :/

Then why is it taking so long if it's required for something that was supposed to due on release? (At least my impression was that The Forgotten would ship with new campaigns)

The Forgotten DID ship with new campaigns. There were 4 at launch, and more have been added regularly since then. I believe Cysion is referring to the upcoming 7th campaign.
