Game Locking Up on Multi-Player
I recently started playing with the new Age of Empires II HD update (Where the CPUs are more difficult). I like the difficulty level, but unfortunately the game has been running very slowly. It will glitch up often and there is a delay before my units follow commands. The problem with this is that I have trouble taking down an enemy if my units are not responding quickly but theirs are. It would be better not to have an update on AOE II HD at all if you guys cannot get it to run properly. I played with another player yesterday in the exact same room on high-speed internet. We both have powerful computers - mine has a terabyte of space, 8GB of ram, and an I7 dual-core processor. Is there some update I can make to fix the problem of this glitching? It did not glitch like this before the new update. Are you guys working on it, or do you have a time frame in which it will be done? Is there a way to undo the new update?

This should be fixed in the next update, but in the meantime, you can revert to 3.5 if you wish. This can be done in the betas tab of the Steam properties for the game. Just be aware - you will only be able to play multiplayer with others on the same version, so it may be difficult to find a game.

Thank you. Do you know when the next update is going to come out?

-We (the community) don't know an official date from Microsoft. But I'm putting my money on August (mid/late).

Assuming all goes well, it should be out later today!

Sadly, we ran in to some issues, and this should be going out at some point later this week.

Great, finally we get some updates about the release date of this very much needed patch :) . Big ups and I hope it will really be released this week.

The update is now available! You may need to restart Steam to see it.

Great! Just to make sure, is the update 17.5MB total?

The performance seems to be much better. However, it is still glitching up a little. Definitely not as bad as it was before though! I noticed that when I use the unit attack stance (I think that's what it's called - where your units move and are supposed to attack units when spotted), my units attack buildings as well.

The attack move or patrol? I think they'll attack buildings if they have no units in their line of sight, not 100% sure though.

I was speaking of the attack move. I think it would be helpful if they did not attack buildings, but just units.
