Can you add lan party for offline players or just two or + computers in the same room please ?

Apparently once you set your multiplayer game up it will use your LAN for the actual data. Not an external server

This is correct. The network traffic remains local.

OP, just use a gigabit desktop switch or a wireless connection if you prefer. All players need to be signed into Steam. Steam handles all sorts of things (anti-piracy, cheat protection, matchmaking, achievement tracking...)

you need internet to connect in steam, after that the game should run in LAN
