These wait timers really need to go ASAP.
400 seconds after getting kicked due to server restart and 600 seconds after immediately leaving a server are uttermost ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I am a fanboy with over 300 hours logged, I still think it is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I didn't pay 30 bucks to spend ten minutes on a wait screen because their bugged game kicks me. 5 minutes I could deal with but this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

u get no timer when the server resets
Hello there

The only time I have had an issue was when i joined a server some friends were on which had a high ping and I would loose connection.

When joining decent servers (which are most I have tried) I dopnt get thrown off and so never need to wait.

Even then the wait isnt that long, make a cup of tea/cofee or check your emails etc.

But if you are having issues with your fave server, contact its SA or organise with your chums to find a more stable one.

Rgds

Server restarts : 400s wait time.
Change server after being on it for an hour: 300s wait time.

With the old system the fastest you could ghost would be 5 minutes and 30 seconds. If you'd camp somewhere that long and get jumped nonetheless by someone who is unresponsive for the first 5-10 seconds then you deserve to die.

I'd like to bump this thread because why not.

People complain about server hoppers.

Devs listen

Then people complain about what they try to do to discourage server hoppers . . .

So, you admit to ghosting then? I wonder what else you can admit to.

I understand them going after server hoppers but the new timers are ridiculous. You get punished in two cases:
1) Server resets, you get a 300-400s timer.
2) You're in a server for a good hour. The server starts to empty out or it starts to feel laggy. You reconnect to another one. You get a 300s timer.

I have never ghosted (maybe because it's long and overall doomed to fail since your character is unresponsive for the first couple seconds). I am just stating the fact that they have done nothing to curb that further. In fact they made it easier since they removed spawn in sounds in the last update. I had a guy spawn in inside a shed I was in. I turn around to see a fully geared guy standing there. If I didn't have my SKS out I'd most likely die.

And ancient astronaught theorists agree that youre whining way to much over an issue that will be addressed in the future.

I can imagine you with hair like you got struck with lighting, holding your hands about 20 cm apart and saying "Alpha".

The timer shouldn't be affected by server restarts. If that happens it is a bug, not intentional and should be reported over at feedback.dayzgame.com.

I can imagine him going bald right now as he rips chuncks of hair out because people have a clue what they are doing in a game that is in ALPHA.
