So it is basically naivety then towards the development process in general. Alrighty then. ;)
Development- an event constituting a new stage in a changing situation while in the progression process.
With a statement such as below i would suggest the latter of both options. (If he is simply adding the current version number and adding the timeframe it took to reach that version?)
edit: also talking about them in the 3rd person really annoys them.
For example: "This guy doesn't get it." or "I'm not sure what he plans to achieve here."
They feed on attention, not giving them anything directly will stave them of it.
