Q. What are the system requirements for XCOM: Enemy Unknown?

• Windows Vista or Windows 7 (This game does not natively support Windows XP.)
  
• 2GHz Dual Core Processor
  
• 2GB RAM
  
• nVidia GeForce 8600 GT / ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT or better
  
• 20GB Hard Disk space
  
• Broadand Connection

Recommended:

• 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or Athlon X2 2.7GHz
  
• 4GB RAM
  
• nVidia GeForce 9000 series / ATI Radeon HD 3000 series or better

Q. I pre-loaded, but when trying to play, the game tells me it's corrupted!

Close Steam entirely by clicking "Steam" then "Exit". Once you restart Steam, it should download a small patch and you should be good to go.


Q. I still bought XCOM: Enemy Unknown with an XP OS. Is there any way I can play it?

There are some fixes brought up by the community. Keep in mind that you implement these at your own risk.

If you get an error such as "Cannot find "InitOnceExecuteOnce" in DLL", then make sure you actually bought your copy of the game.


Q. I'm trying to run XCOM: Enemy Unknown on a system with three monitors, but it's all sorts of weird.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown does not support Triplehead or any other panoramic setup.


Q. How do I skip the intro videos for XCOM: Enemy Unknown?

Find the following directory:
../steam/steamapps/common/XCom-enemy-Unknown/XComGame/Movies

Delete/rename the following:
1080_ESRB.bik
1080_Logo_2KFiraxis.bik
1080_LogoLegal_PcConsole_*.bik
1080_UE3TechLogo.bik
UE3TechLogo.bik
E3_shield.bik
ESRB.bik
Logo_2kFiraxis.bik
LogoLegal_PCConsole_*.bik

It was literally the first thing I looked for. I always look for BIK files I can rename or delete.

i was able to launch games which reqs were higher than 1 Gb of RAM. is it possible to do so with this game ?
