Soviet generals
Hi, i am from Russia and you have 90 % of incorrect generals, admirals and leaders portraits for Soviet Union. It took 2 hours to find portraits for them in the period of time between 1936 and 1945. Can you please re-do all of 32 portraits for them? Here is the link from me https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BycJYsKw9_kkMmtOWkNGOHZxSkU

What do you mean by incorrect ? Photos do not match with the 1939-1945 period ? By the way, I cannot open your .7Z files with the 7zip software (and I don't know why). Could you send me these pictures by another way or in format ?

I have updated my 7zip to 17.01 beta. Try to download and open it again. I also changed all photos to 156Х210 size. Here is the link https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BycJYsKw9_kkWVBwelVxYUtmR1k/view?usp=sharing

Your photos are awesome. But do you know some of these pictures are probably/surely draws ? For Alexander Gorbatov, Govorov, Moskalenko, Valutin and Isa Pliyev for example. And could you confirm to me your photos are more acurate for the 36-48 period than mine ?

Only Pliev"s and Govorov"s photos were drawn (you cannot find in internet photos of them before 1941 - 1945 - Great Patriotic War). Also all generals in their photos were using shoulder boards and military ranks before German-Soviet war. And what is more important their is correct for that period of time (Paradox only focusing on Germany). Can you please use photos what I send to you? Here is the link to military ranks for Soviet soldiers and officers before 1941 (I do not understand why Paradox is using photos of soviet generals when they became heroes after Great Patriotic War.....what if I am playing for Germany and have conquered Russia?) and I hope you will understand everything even if you do not know russian language https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%92%D0%BE%D0%B8%D0%BD%D1%81%D0%BA%D0%B8%D0%B5_%D0%B7%D0%B2%D0%B0%D0%BD%D0%B8%D1%8F_%D0%B8_%D0%B7%D0%BD%D0%B0%D0%BA%D0%B8_%D1%80%D0%B0%D0%B7%D0%BB%D0%B8%D1%87%D0%B8%D1%8F_%D0%A0%D0%9A%D0%9A%D0%90_1935%E2%80%941940

Ok I will add the photos, this week. But I am still anoying to add the two drawns. And I think, it is visible, than Valutiin and the other I have mentionned are drawns. Objectively look at Valutin picture, you confirm it is a photo ?

And is it very important for you to change the photo fo Stalin ?
Scotvince  [developer] Nov 8, 2017 @ 12:46am
What about the General Vlasov ? You didn't suggest me a photo of him. So mine is correct ? (I don't see any star distinction on is jersey). And Vladimir Kasatonov, don't you think his actual photo is a post-war one ?

I have done it ! I choiced to keep my Chuikov's photo, because we can see his rank as on your photo, and I prefer mine. It is a more contextual picture when he was on the front. What do you think ?

Did you noticed the ranks that paradow gave to generals don't match with real ranks ? Do you think it is possible to change paradox ranks to real ones ? Could we know real ranks around 1939 ?

Thank you for adding portraits I have found (sorry for late answer I have real life work and studying). I tried to find portrait for Vladimir Kasatonov but it is impossible (looks like he does not photoshooting, thats why his post-war photo is the only solution). Your Chuikov's portrait is good too. And I really appreciate for adding my Stalin's photo (i am not a fan of him just perfectionist). You can do with Vatutin's portrait things you did for Pliev's portrait (nice effects, was it Photoshop?). ALSO you have problems with photo formats (they must have DXT1 format and size 156X210). This is why i cannot see portraits of chinese generals because they have 100X135 size. Some portraits of all countries have this problem, please fix this problem. Can you fix the portrait of Portrait_Botswana_Tshekedi_Khama because his head is narrowed and too big. Can you also make all japanese generals and admirals in the same style as british ones (when head owns 45-50% of 156X210 portrait) ?

And for advisors....use big german style portraits because they are so good.

Please check all portraits, they all must have size 156x210 and have this: Format: DXT1

Hi. I am really surprised that the 100x135 size not work in your game. It works in mine and I also will ask to best friend to check. The format I use is DDS. What is DXT1 ? Apparently it's for textures compression. Are you the only one to have this photo's display problems ? I am using photoshop. I will make again chinise portraits with a closer point of view (it also depend on the pixelisation of old bad photos, however I guarantee I can do it for 90%), maybe tomorrow or the next week, with an enhancement for Vatutin and Tshekedi Khama (I didn't find a good photo). I am also a perfectionist, and I think I will start again a massive enhancement (light/contrast harmonization and "point of view cutting", in the limit of the original photo quality), before to start any other addition to this mod.

I trust you to tell me if soviet advisors portraits are accurate to the period, or if you think there are more pertinent ones (photo in official costume, etc...). Because of many photos on the net don't have any date. I have to compare photos to each others and find the closest one.

Well all soviet portraits are accurate for that period of time now (it is really hard to find soviet portraits before Great Patriotic War). You are correct about DDS format, i just wanted to say that when you click on photo you will see in the left down corner this: Format:DXT1 (i am using WTV - DDS file viewer for watching images with this format, also DXT1 is one of the DDS pixel formats). All japanese and chinese portraits (and korean) need improvement.....for perfection.....
