On a side note, i will add in a health multiplier and flate value. So you could increase/decrease total health by 20% for example or make it so the saddle adds/subtracts 500 health( will also put in a health check so the saddle/costume does nothing so it doesn't intantly kill the dino because it takes the health the minus)
I also suggest making the alpha glow an option rather than removing it. personally i think its quite good to tell if you're using the speed saddle or not, as balancing the saddles (via health option, nice addition btw) so they are less proficient for combat is really required for pvp. So people who combat with their fliers will want to carry both saddles (or remove the costume) when fighting. - this is a good balancing method.
Thats a pretty good idea, with the grade multiplier. Once i have finished the current planned overhaul of the mod i will look into doing that. With the alpha glow i will eventually get around to changing it so every saddle/costume will apply a small glow to the dino, that can be turned on/off in the .ini.
With the set health and healh multiplier, once the saddle has been taken off the dino will get its original max health back. Depending on the settings from the server admin, the dino might be at 100% health or at 10%. This presents some issues and also works as a kind of balance, unless you carry a daeodon(healing pig) around with you. So i have been thinking if i should include some kind of regen once the saddle/costume has been taken off? Or maybe some kind of healing potion that will heal your dino but make it immobile while taking increased damage, to stop people trying to abuse it in combat and pvp.
Currently i don't have any plans on making saddles for land/water dinos since they can level up speed. But i guess i could always include some kind of lower end generic costume that all land/water dino's can use.
I'm currently working on that, will change the icons and also put in glows that be enabled/disabled in the config file.

The other good news is that i have the custom item descriptions working (no crashing yay1) so you can see what the server settings are on the saddles. Only downside is i need to add a custom structure in order for it to work. So this could potentially cause some lag as the saddle item would have to phone home to the structure in order to get the values in order to display them. Also trying to make it so the item can auto update its text if the server admin changes the settings, this means already made items should get the text as well.

should have used a smaller resolution so they screenshots were bigger, im afraid you will have to open them up.
