Why can't I give item to my keeper?

Anyone has the same problem as mine? I tried to give my keeper item, but it says i can't give the item to the target every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time!!!

You need to buy Keeper Upgrade. Then u can give items to your keeper.
