Pack Raptor
Burgesssssss  [developer] Apr 15, 2017 @ 2:12pm
The Nitty Gritty
Just a breakdown of the specifics of the mod using default values. Many of the values can be tweaked via ini settings. Please see separate discussion.

General
Raptors gain a 3.75% Increase to Damage and Damage Resistance for every Raptor in the area, similar to the Compy buff (Up to a max of 4 ~ 15%)

Raptors gain points based on the numbers of creatures they kill. Increasing kills allow them to unlock resource focusing when harvesting corpses. They will then only harvest the selected resource when Hunt Mode is activated.

Pack Leader
There can only be one Pack Leader at a time, and the pack must consist of 3 or more Raptors for a leader to be established. The Leader is determined based on Level + Kill Count. Unlike the Allosaurus, there cannot be multiple leaders in the same area.

The Pack Leader receives a 20% Increase to Damage and Damage Resistance.

Roar - Secondary Attack (Mouse 2) while on the ground (Pack Leader Only)
The pack leader unleashes a shrieking roar, enabling all members of the pack to enter Hunt Mode.

Toggle Pack Resource Harvest - Alt Fire and Crouch (Left Ctrl and C Key)
Cycles all members of the pack to the selected Focused Resource (If Unlocked).

Pack Jump - Alt Fire and Mouse Button 2 (Left Ctrl and Mouse 2)
Calls for all other riderless Raptors in the pack to jump. Helpful for making it past obstacles or traversing long distances as a group.

Hunt Mode
The initial roar and glowing orange eyes indicate Hunt Mode is active. Costs 20 Pack Kill Points and lasts 5 minutes. Each Raptor then receives the following bonuses...

15% Damage Increase (stacks with initial pack boost)
15% Damage Resistance Increase (stacks with initial pack boost)
15% Movement Speed Increase
50% Swimming Speed Increase
15% Reduction in Sprinting Stamina Cost
15% Increase in Stamina Recovery
10% XP Boost
50% Decrease to Fall Damage
Focused Resource Harvesting

Resource Focusing
Focused Resource Kill Requirements
Raw Meat - 5 Kills
Hide - 15 Kills
Raw Prime Meat - 30 Kills

Toggle Raptor Resource Harvest - Crouch (C Key)
Cycle through Unlocked Focused Resources

Latching
Latch In Attack - Mouse Button 2 while in the air
Base Damage - 18
Stamina Usage - 4
The Raptor will use it's claws to latch on to any larger Dino that has the "Is Big Dino" boolean set to true. Changing targeting to Neutral or Passive will unlatch AI Raptors if latched.

List of known Latchable dinos -

Bronto
Diplo
Giga
Mammoth
Paracer
Quetzal
Rex
Sarco
Spino
Stego
Titanosaur
Trike

There is likely more, but I haven't went through all Dinos in the Dev Kit to find out which has "Is Big Dino" set to true.

Also manually added the ability to latch to Carnos, Allos, Megalosaurus and Alpha Carnos.

As default Dino Collision differs if Tamed, Untamed or Ridden, latch success is variable. Example - You can pretty much jump right through the body of a wild Rex which makes the AI Raptors latch success lower - Fixing this would like cause remapping all the Dinos in the game, which doesn't work well for compatibility with other mods.

Latched Attack - Mouse Button 1 while latched
Base Damage - 15
Stamina Usage - 2
While latched, the Raptor will claw at it's target. The latched Dino is often unable to retaliate due to the Raptors' advantageous position.

For balancing purposes, while latched, stamina reduces at an accelerated rate. Ridden Raptors will only unlatch when they become unconscious and AI Raptors will unlatch when their Stamina is less than 25%.

Ridden and AI Raptors will unlatch if they collide with world geometry or structures, or enter water.

Technicals
Remapped via Global NPCRandom Spawn Class Weights in PDG due to current bug with the Dev Kit/game, not allowing Raptor, Carno or Rex children to be added to or remapped via Spawners.

So I am assuming since these remap the existing raptors the will replace them in the spawner code? You didn't mention it specifically beyond saying any "existing raptors will be unaffected but new ones will all be pack raptors".

Correct. It's just a NPC remap. Didn't see the need to have both types of Raptor spawning in the wild.

This is an awesome mod that really makes raptors a useful dino in the later stages of the game where they normally aren't used anymore. So kudos on creating a very realistic mod that reinvents raptors! Question though... when you say there can only be 1 leader at a time, is that per tribe? Per server/world? I'm playing on a small dedicated server where we are all part of the same tribe and the mod is working great, with 1 leader as expected. Just wondering if another tribe came in, if they would be able to have thier own raptor leader too?

I'm guessing this doesn't work with 'special' Dinos? Such as Extinction Core's or Ark Eternal variant Alpha or Prime raptors. Since I can imagine those two big mods messing with the spawns.

Thanks! But yeah, there can be multiple leaders per tribe, just not in the same area. For example, a pack at Red Obi will have a leader and another pack at Green Obi will have a separate leader.

For now, it's likely not compatible. Next release I'll probs remove the remap from the mod itself and make the spawning occur from the GameSettings.ini remap options.

Yeah the mod's a bit outdated after several game updates. No longer works 100% in the latest version of the DevKit either, so I'm having to do a lot of reverse engineering to determine what needs corrected.

I plan to get it an update out, with Aberrant versions too, but it's difficult when I can't exactly pin point what's broken. Might take a while for a fix, or may have to rebuild it from the ground up.

How do I add Raptors to a pack?
SofiatheHedgehog May 12, 2020 @ 4:14pm
Is there a possibility to enable this to Tek Raptors as well, in the future, assuming you were to still be working on this mod?
