I've noticed some rather inconsistent behavior with the Swarm Queen in a few games I've gotten it from the colony event, and was wondering if anyone has noticed the same or if there's something I am not figuring out.

The problem I have right now, is that the Queen is not producing any units. I've had her for a decade or more at this point, but she is still going at it alone instead of creating any new ships. In a few other games, she does reproduce but the ships she starts with change between 2 big ships and 1 small swarmship, to just 1 small swarmship that she replaces whenever any of them are lost. So what's up? The vanilla Queen you get has a chance to spawn new ships every few months as far as I read, so is there some unique behavior here that I am screwing up?
