Faction Mod and future update features
This post contains planned Faction Mod features, and the planned changelog of the 1.5 update

At the moment, we're not actively working on anything, but we'll start with the 1.5 update when the time comes
Faction Mod planned features
A lot of the factions will be joke characters and etc, but there might be some practical use
Right now, the hardest part is getting around the coding setup, but it'll come eventually

  • Mafufda's Legionaries
    A rag-tag rebel group led by the African warlord Mafufda, Mafufda's Legionaries terrorize Altis, and actively fights M'abumbe's Legion (because Mafufda doesn't like how similar the names are)

    Their equipment is based on the standardized gear of other factions in the area, alongside general civilian clothing

  • M'abumbe's Legion
    A private military company hired by the government of Altis to fight rebel groups

    Their equipment is state of the art military weaponry, but their leader M'abumbe is inexperienced, and so the layout of the faction and gear of each soldier is affected (for example, team leaders have a bright blue beret which makes them stand out)

  • "XOC"
    A shadow organization, the goals of which, nobody knows

  • Drama Alert mercenaries
    Keemstar retreats from internet drama to Altis and he forms a pirate mercenary army (this is obviously a joke faction and it's created for a series of missions that are yet to be completed)

  • Other Features
    Each faction will ideally have groups and unique personalities and units, but coding this is incredibly difficult thus far.
    Also, the camos each faction utilizes will have a duplicate class that locks the uniform to that faction's side. Meaning, there'll be a duplicate XOC camo that only OPFOR soldiers can wear, for example. The duplicate camos will have separate classnames and they won't be visible in the Virtual Arsenal, so you can still wear them normally and they'll be unlocked.

    This mod will definitely have CUP requirements, but vehicles might not be added until later.
    We've picked CUP because it's more familiar to us than any other mod.

Future Update Features
  • Foreign Legion pattern equipment
    These items will be retextured in the FL Arid, FL Urban, and FL Woodland patterns: Tactical Vests, AAF vests, Boonie Hats, Modular Helmets, and Military Caps

  • Berets for the factions
    (partially done, we need a XOC beret)

  • Snow camos and sweaters
    (done, but we'd like to add more)

  • Color swapped sweaters but with khaki pants

  • Foreign Legion and Mercenary pattern sweaters
    (partially done, there's no mercenary sweaters yet)

  • Stealth AAF retexture (just a black uniform)

  • White TACPAT uniform

  • IRA uniform remakes
    (they'll be renamed to like, Insurgent Uniform or something and they'll be more fleshed out with
    more varieties)

  • Keemstar hat + Drama Alert press vest

  • Carrier Special/GL vests but without flags

  • Equipment versions of each camo
    (since we've got vest configs done right now, we'll try making camo versions of vests and stuff)

  • Half Life HECU Marine camo pattern

  • Another Autumn Camo But This Time It's Cooler

  • Updated camo patterns for Flecktarn and Nightfall camos
    (partially done, the Nightfall camo is gonna stay as-is)

  • Inventory icons for everything involved
