Bug or Feature? - Heat from Skylight
Is this intentional? I seem to be having a hard time keeping my fridge room at a maintained temp while the sun is out and skylights installed. When I uninstall them, I can maintain temps without issue.

P.S. if this is a feature, would a future update perhaps be able to include some UV filter technology to help(or completely) mitigate the heat?

You fast! Thanks for the quick reply! However just edited with a P.S. remark while you were posting, care to comment on that also please? :)

people wanted me to add this so its more realistic, the point of the skylights is to use for growing plants and with usable sunlight comes heat, they aren't any use as a replacement for indoor lighting because pawns still get darkness debuffs at night so you always need standing lamps anyway

I've scheduled my pawns to work a day-only routine and am trying to keep power usage to a minimum at the moment, also lamps are an eyesore imo. It's realistic for windows to prevent heat with UV protection so I imagine an extra window type of this nature wouldn't bother people.

I don't know if you can separate the effects of an item by it's build material. But just an idea on a simple implementation: i.e. Make a Uranium Glass Plate. When you have inventoried stock of this item, you can right click the skylight buttons and they show an option to build "Uranium Skylight #x#" which can block the heat intake with a UV film. And sure anyone knows uranium doesn't do this irl but this method will at least utilize vanilla materials.

Otherwise, there is surely other ways to tackle if you cannot separate effects by build material. A completely separate item is maybe too cluttering on the UI but I would not hope that to be the only reason to turn away from the attempt. Maybe that along with a MOD options checkbox for including UV Skylights.

My fear here is that the heat transfer through your skylights cannot be removed, as it may be some inherent game feature but I haven't modded in this game so I wouldn't actually know. Either way, least that's out of my head.. It's for you to do with as you please, or don't :P

its way easier for me to just add a mod option to disable it, i'll do it now before i forget and probably push it to the master on git if you want to get it now

You're the best <3

Very late but the "off by default" change actually just threw me because I last played a while ago and was wondering why my greenhouses were very cold all of a sudden :)

Glad to know the feature is still there. It also works very nicely with the change to let passive coolers be refuelled with water from your Hygiene mod, very good for regulating greenhouse temperatures without power.

So, after starting to use this mod I am noticing a weird thing with my crops. I set them in 5x5 squares and I'm using the 3x3 skylight which seems to illuminate the entire square. However, the ones DIRECTLY under the skylight seem to grow at a different speed than the ones on the edge. Intentional or....? I can't seem to notice any difference in growth rate.
