Are you completly lost or curious about the lore? drop all of your questions here
Hi everyone, I'm Saared, former suggestion generalissimo and loremaster. Being freshly promoted to the actual dev team of Fall of Islam I am no longer in need of posting public suggestions but can now instead modify this marvelous mod myself!
Nonetheless I still remain the loremaster of this timeline, my work so far has covered a large part of the part of the world who was actually affected since the point of divergence with our timeline, I've wrote pages and pages of them (including parts who aren't yet included in game) and will be more than happy to enlight any confusion and answer any question realted to the lore.
While this conversation is mostly reserved for the alt-history, you are still free to ask me question about the mod (design choices, plan for the future of FoI ect...), just be aware that I might not be as precised of knowledgable on subject other than the lore, so takes everythings else with a little grain fo salt.

are there any plans for the future that could effect the new world, especially in regards to colonization, since most european nations are too small to colonize any large area during the early game, this causes the native americans to be more or less untouched in many areas, and the introduction of horses to the new world would (in theory) allow the more isolated natives to be able to develop european level civilization without having to be dirrectly near by to any european level nation states. Along with this, and since this is an alternate history with a relatively early diverging point, perhaps there could have been some other changes to the new world at the start date, perhaps the nestorians got all the way to the east coast of the americas, introducing some old world diseases, technology and religion to the higher american civilizations, possibly creating new syncretic religions or allowing the natives to gain more advanced technology, along with an immunity to some of the old world diseases.

I'm curious about the presence of Manicheans in Northern Africa, it seems a little out of place to me.

@Brastion

Any update concerning the americas themselves have not been touched, as most of the Divergence only affected Europe, Asia and Africa so far. As you pointed out however, the lack of Spain and Portugal early game lead most of the time to a largely untouched new world until France/Britain/the Netherlands and other third waves colonial powers get in business. This early colonization job has already partially have been transferred to Lusitania and Toledo ( this is evident in their National ideas) and there is plan to give them proper mission tree to explore the world early, but that won't be until we dedicate some time to the Iberian region.

@Dusk

Well, let just say that Norht Africa is definetly a region subject of changes from time to time, it will have a major uplift in the future (not in a near future however) and in the meantime there is constant discutions in the production team about what to do with it.

@pandamansleep

Yazidi in the Fall of Islam timeline is more suppose to represent an holdout of the original Kurdish polytheism who considerably evolved after absorbing various element of numerous monotheist beliefs around them. They will have a rework at some point, but since it's a rather minor religion not in a immediate future
With the lack of an arabic conquest of Egypt, i'm curious to know what happened with the greek presence in Egypt, especially after the Ptolemaic era, and after the Byzantines lost it. Greek culture had heavily intertwined and influenced Egyptian already during the Ptolemaic era, and even moreso when it was part of the Byzantine empire.

@Salighedens Mester

Not much actually, the new egyptian empire had no interrest in fighting a really powerfull greek minority within the country (as part of the Egyptian policy of relative tolerance) but still monitered them heavely. They were even used against the Byzantine empire in latter wars, sometimes without them even knwowing it.

What exactly happened with Egypt in general in this mod? The main reason for the victory of the Muslims was a schism between Egypt, Syria, and North Africa on one side and the rest of the Byzantines on the other. Egyptians felt that Muslim decentralised rule was far more tolerable than Byzantine oppressive rule. What happened in this alternative scenario? How was this flip avoided? Earlier Byzantine collapse or more effective suppression of Egyptians? Was there any divergence before Muhammed PBUH, like say Phocas not taking over the Empire and making a mess? Also how did Turks get so powerful if they weren't needed as mercenaries to fight the Muslims?

Why is Bulgaria a junior parter under Wallachia when the Stratsimir dynasty is a Bulgarian dynasty? Would't it be the reverse with Bulgaria being the senior instead? What happened over there?

Why is Toulouse independent to the French? Did they fracture because they didn't have the Crusades to unite the lords of Europe?

Just a thing I'd like to mention, Saared's not been checking this thread too often (...I know, it's pretty obvious); I'd heavily recommend anyone with lore questions to drop them in the Discord server. Generally speaking, we can explain there pretty quickly.
