I'm Happy to finally see a mention of this little oddity! This is indeed an Easter egg that we included in this map. The new content actually contains a few different Easter eggs and references for observant players to discover. Happy hunting!

Any chance you can tell where is the key for chest in the said cave? Where 3 giant spiders attack you. No need for spoilers, just let me know if it's in the same cave or not.

I don't remember off the top of my head if there is a key for that chest or not. The chests in the new content do not always have keys, some of them are just meant to be opened with high lock picking ability, to make that ability more useful and satisfying. If that particular chest has a key, it will be somewhere in the same cave. Important to note: chests like this never gate necessary content, so even if you cannot open it, it will not really damage your game in any way.

Thanks for the info! But yea, thanks for adding this eye easter egg, i enjoyed it very much. Only thing that bothered me is the idea of throwing some item in the water to summon this monster, but guess it's just an easter egg.
Also, im getting this right - if i finish the base game, i won't be able to play after final fight? So if i want to play epic encounters content i have to do it BEFORE final fight of dos?

That is correct. After a certain point in the base content you will lose the ability to use waypoint travel, at which point you are just locked into the endgame of the base content. The new content meanwhile allows you the ability to use the waypoint system throughout, so you can play all the new stuff, and then finish off the old.

By the way, Elric, have you played Dungeon Siege 2? Very nice game, kinda simillar to divinity in some ways.
In this game there is a super secret dungeon area, but only accessible if you collected all secret items. It's hard to describe kinda, if you played you would know what i'm talking about. Anyway, would be nice to see something like this in EE2.

I know of Dungeon Siege 2, but I never really played very much of it. I understand what you are getting at, though--super special prestige content that only a very dedicated player will get, which serves as a reward for their time investment. We have actually been thinking about this concept and how to do something like it. From a development standpoint this idea poses problems because it is unattractive to make content that very few people will ever see--not a very efficient use of development time. On the other hand, as gamers, we love this sort of stuff, so we would like to offer some flavor of it.

Sorry if im bothering you with questions, but there is a way to activate "inactive / frozen portal" in ee? It's located on some edge, was guarded by a single very weak guy. You have to use tele pyramids to get there.
Elric  [developer] Aug 21, 2018 @ 3:58pm
You cannot activate this portal. It has a purpose in the story, but does not function.

By the way, did the fellow in front of the portal summon aid when you attacked him? Or perhaps you killed him out of combat with a single strike?

I knocked him out, and he didn't survive whant happened after. Don't even know what type of attacks he had, probably something disgusting.

I was just curious because he does do some interesting stuff, but he is by no means the most powerful enemy around. With very high damage output, it is possible to blitz him so that he never gets a turn. Mainly I wanted to make sure that his scripting functioned for you. The scripting engine for D:OS1 is quite fragile, and sometimes it stops working, which is sort of awful because it will cause you to miss out on the really exciting mechanics that Ameranth built for some of the "boss" encounters. An easy way to tell if your scripting is not working is to try to turn on any light source, like a torch or campfire. If the object does not just on, the engine has broken, and you should restart D:OS so that everything restarts and you get the epic encounters that you were expecting!

Also, i have met 4 lords in a small building behind metal door in the terrace. It will open much later, right? Right now you can actually cheese them because of the closed door with spells and skills with huge AOE.
Elric  [developer] Aug 23, 2018 @ 3:20pm
That door can be opened by the player in a number of ways so that you can enter and explore the building. However, yours is the first report that I recall of being able to kill these monsters from outside the building. Are you perhaps hitting them with earthquake, or storm?
Alucard Aug 24, 2018 @ 12:03am
If you are tricky you can attack them with splintered arrow, not to mention arrow rain. Also the assasin lord guy will tele outside, which will be his last mistake.
Elric  [developer] Aug 24, 2018 @ 7:38am
Interesting. I am surprised that Arrow Rain will do it, because I would have thought that it would hit the roof of the building. I guess that those arrows are not real projectiles. I think that there are some ways that we can keep this from happening, but unfortunately all of our time is getting dumped into our new project. I guess that you get this one as a freebie!
