1) It is possible--there are some "unpalatable" altars scattered around Kadath that deserve your attention. Take another look at those and let me know if you still have trouble.
2) That is an anomalous looking map. If you fought Melchior, then you should have visited the areas that correspond to these map oddities. I've never seen this before--I'm thinking it’s just a little glitch.
3) Sadly, that door remains flavor. We had plans to use it for something originally, but technical limitations killed that dream. So, currently, it’s simply a Diablo I reference.
4) Ossurot lives! And you can kill him. Work on 1) above and things will begin to make sense.
Once I figured out how his fight worked during the long process of him eventually overpowering my normal party I reset my SHs to lone wolves so they could take the hits. Despite having 10k health apiece fully buffed and dual lifelink with a 60% block rate he still managed to kill one with his suprise time stoppage.
Just out of curiosity, he was at very low health before he pulled that and during it he got hit with the healing fragment for the first time in the battle. If I had been able to take him out beforehand would that have ended him or would he have healed himself yet again? One of my SHs hasThe Vault and she probably could have done it if I wanted to use all her AP...
1: I didn't think the alters were more than flavor, and since all they seemed to do was literally tell me that I didn't belong there I probably missed some. :p
4: Ok then, since my special boss slaying LW duo is still set up I can say with certainty that he is going to not be living for much longer...
I will be curious to see how Ossurot treats you. It should be an interesting encounter, even if it turns out to be brief!
As to Ossurot I'm going to have to respec out of lone wolf, my tanks alone were never intended to handle a quartet of vampires.... Their job is to 2v1 really nasty bosses by winning a slow battle of attrition. Besides, I need someone to identify all this loot I have laying around...
Hopefully my normal party can employ their usual methods of one sidedly beating everything they come across without worrying about the floor itself one shotting my squishies or my deployable barricade literally falling through the floor... That last one was both genius and hilarious I didn't know you could do that...

If the fight can be made to look something like that it should be a cakewalk.
Hm. 26 to 72K damage for 3 AP. Seems balanced. :D
I've had quite enough of the game one hit killing my characters with massively overcharged damage values and AOE effects, and ignoring my tanks in favor of attacking my squishies standing supposedly protected some distance behind them. Fine then, I can play unfairly too...
As such, the vampire fight did not go as design intended...

Two vampires at a time are much easier to deal with than four, especially when they have enraged melee source hunters teleporting in their face...
Ossurot was an interesting encounter, It actually required wepons with vulnerability debuffs, Astrologers Gaze, Crush or that Pyro spell (whatever it's called) to win or the player would probably never get anywhere with it. It was also very difficult if attempted conventionally so after about an hour and a half of tests and preperation...

It was indeed a short fight. Three dead baddies in one round. Should have thought of this for Melchior...

I was originally going to use my vast collection of exploding containers to nuke the lot of them but dropping a 5k weight object on their heads after hitting them with Crush seemed a more effective option.
5K damage for 2 AP. "Balanced' indeed. :p
Thanks for the help.
