Suggestions
Please post any suggestions here! We will do our best to keep the wishlist as up to date as possible. :)

Current Suggestions
  • Add a configurable INI setting to require a minimum player level to upgrade items to specific quality levels. (Level 10 for Ramshackle, Level 20 for Journeyman, etc.)
  • Add a cooldown for upgraded items so that the item can't be upgraded again until a specified amount of time has passed. An INI setting will be added to configure how long the cooldown should be per quality level. Setting the INI setting to 0 would mean no cooldown.
  • Keep dye on upgrading items. (We're working on it but we haven't figured it out yet.)
  • Add configurable multiplier for hypo- and hyper-thermic stat increase. (We're working on it and it should be in as a configurable INI option soon.)
  • Have "Crafting Speed" stat affect the quality of upgraded items. (Perhaps increased fortune chance or higher stats increase.)
  • Add inventory hotkeys to quickly upgrade or salvage items. (We're working on it!)
  • Add a primitive-friendly variant. (We're working on it as part of our variants pass!) :)
  • Add additional variants with increased inventory slots and HP. (We're currently working on the metal and tek tiers.)

Suggestions Added
  • Re-introduce the "Fortune smiles upon you!" mechanic. Very rarely your weapon will skip a quality index, and extremely rarely your upgrade will consume no resources. An INI setting will be added to configure how frequently this happens.
  • Re-introduce the "Upgrade failed!" mechanic. Very rarely the upgrade process will fail and consume a portion of the items required to upgrade. An INI setting will be added to configure how frequently this happens.
  • Change material cost from 5 metal ingot to 10 raw metal to make upgrading low-tier items more viable.
  • Add the ability to reverse engineer items to create blueprints from them.
  • Allow renaming of the Upgrade Station and Blueprint Station.
  • Add the ability to restrict certain items from being upgraded. (We're working on it and it will likely be a comma-delimited string of item classes [PrimalItem_MetalPike_C, etc].)

Came here to make the same suggestions @Belisarious made. Cost-free blueprints are OP as heck xD
I wouldn't call it cost free as you will only get a fraction of materials that it cost to get the item to the level you want to turn it into a bp. Rather would love to see no fraction of resources gone as well.

But I would like a better naming for both upgrade stations, like primative upgrade station and metal upgrade station. Also a level restriction on the later one so it can't be learned from level 1.

Also a clearer seperation of what can be upgraded per station, if possible. I don't like it that you can also upgrade the longneck in the primitive upgrade station. Perhaps some overrides on what can be upgraded per upgrade station? Or did I miss that option if it already exist.

As someone who has worked my bag off to get all the materials for both the upgrades AND the augments to FULLY upgrade weapons, armor, and tools. They are NOT op and quite frankly when you put the better part of 20+ hours into getting materials and such, being able to blueprint the maxed out item with solely the cost of re-fabrication is plenty hard enough. They really don't need a change.

Please, for the love of all things Ark - DO NOT change this... it's painful enough.

The cost is dependent on the server owners settings. If the server owner does not adjust the settings, then its REALLY easy to get things upgraded. What @atvar and I want to do is to make blueprints cost something so players can't just go an make everything into blueprints instantly. The cost to make the item via blueprint is cheaper (on our server) by a lot compared to getting the item to that upgraded stats. We want to make getting blueprints difficult. Because after you get the blueprint... its very easy to get that item again.

You can set it with config file, something like
OverrideNamedEngramEntries=(EngramClassName="EngramEntry_UpgradeStation_Metal_C",EngramHidden=False,EngramPointsCost=45,EngramLevelRequirement=65,RemoveEngramPreReq=False)
My engram learning already lags enough, but yeah the level requirement you can set that way, but you cat't set it to the pre-requirement of needing to have learned the Workbench or Fabricator that way. seems I cut a bit to much when I was editing it before posting as I thought I had put those pre-rquirement qs examples in there as well :)

Hey Ghazlawl, Is there maybe a way you can add extra augmentation to the saddels?
Like Argentavis Talon for more movement speed, Megalodon Tooth for extra oxygen, Saurpod for health/food, Tyrnnosaurus Arm for damadge. Something like that?

Another suggestion would be to add tooltips if possible so you can tell how much something will cost before you press upgrade.

Would it be possible to make higher tiers of stations more resource efficient? not an incredible amount, but more of the metal station using 5% less resources, and the future tek one using 15% less? being that the will be costing more resources to make.

Hi Ghazlawl. Thanks for the mod. Could you please consider adding the ability to pull inventory from nearby storage bins? Given the mass amounts of resources needed, this would be incredibly useful.

Would it be possible to make the upgrade station, have more slots

I too would love to see something akin to Automated Ark resource pulling based on currently selected item. Would be even cooler if it could utilize AAs storage selections, if present, or fall back to some kind of "anything inheriting base storage bp and or dinos in range" default.

Additionally Id like to suggest config for upgrade/blueprint/augment restrictions. Could just be a list of bp references maybe? Anything in exclusion list is then not eligible for upgrade or bp salvage kr aug.. maybe make that three separate exclusion settings too.

Any easy way to disable type of item for PVP server, it's cool having weapons and armor but saddles breaks the game in a lot of ways

Would it be possible to key the Failure and Fortune chances to your Crafting Speed stats? It would be a nice perk to people who actually spend points into this skill to be seen as more skilled crafters. The more Crafting Speed, the better chances that you won't have a failure, or might get a Fortune upgrade. The failure rate would need to be raised at a base level to compensate (most likely as an .ini option).

I know Mindwipe would make this a little specious depending on the server, but I could definitely see uses for servers that have Mindwipe disabled.

Tested Upgrad Station with the default values today and have to say that the results it spits out are so unbelievable overpowered!
Just updating to ramshackle stuff throws out such insane values that the whole concept of the upgrade station is into the "way to much"-realm.
Please tune the default values down. A lot!

Why tune default values if you can adjust everything with configs?

Completely agree the default settings are OP, but dont see the point in the author putting any time into that. You can easily tweak the settings, its straight forward and takes a minute. So just tune it to your own liking.

Not to mention that OP for some, is not for others.

You might have noticed that my comment was about the "default settings", because usually it suits most mods better if they align nicely along the vanilla game balance instead of throwing the balance out of the window by default.

You can make it so upgrading saddle barely increase the armor? Same with armor augments.
