is it possible to tame alpha dodorexy?
i tried posion arrows but they do to little poison and he just runs away after just one and is instantly at 0 torpor again and never stays still to be hit, he is running in every direction constantly, darts dont work because he is once again running, you cant trap him because he eat through metal instantly. passive taming doesnt work because according to the sprread sheet, he is one of the only alphas that can not be passive tamed and only ko tamed.

taming alpha gigas and bosses who are vastly stronger are alot easier to tame because although you cant trap them, they dont run around constantly and can be hit without being a master marksmen. played extiction core up to taming a beast of darkness multiple times and hve not once been able to tame him (although i never tried with a alpha reaper, that could work, but at that point its only a major downgrade to tame it)

yep, passive taming doesnt work, had rex kibble and it said put taming food in hotbar even thou it was.
only one possible way to tame him that i can think of being possible is passive with golden kibble but for golden kibble you need a golden dodo which is astronamically rare and to tame that, you need to tame a hesperonis whichi have never been able to tame because it glitches for me and never accepts any fish

I often had to use flying mounts with the ability to use ranged weapons (Prime Featherlights preferably) to tame Alpha Dodorexy. It's a nerve racking and very dangerous experience, even taming Alpha Gigas are easier to tame as long as you know how to avoid their gravity roar.

Another good method is to find a mountain that you can stand on, but the Dodorexy can't climb up, you usually can hit their tails and their meteor balls can't reach you. If his torpor gets close to 70%, mount the flying dino and start firing as many compound poison arrows as you can as it runs away from you until it's finally KO'd (if his torpor stops raising, it drops instantly).

As for the passive taming, Alpha Dodorexy are indeed not tameable through passive, no matter what you have. Golden Dodo Treat are basically the same as the favorite kibbles (except for alpha gigas). However, the amount of Hesperonis golden egg is stupidly high...even with taming rates being higher. You're better off instant taming him with Herbivore treat as the other good options are only alpha therizino.

The runaway problem? simple. play with friends to take you with flyer.
but if you still want to do it as solo...try with Prime titanoboa. or... git gud :health:

ya, avoidng the gravity roar is easy with a queztal or a clift, i could tame the dodorexy but the arrows are insanely expensive, its hard to get even 10. i will try to tame under water stuff to kill jelly fish to make them alot more easily.

Just get a tuso, a normal one will do. They kill jellyfish effortlessly, just make sure you wear the blue tribe hat to avoid getting ganked by blue tribesmen while riding the tuso. (Bonus points for alpha tuso)

To make the matters worse, an imprinted alpha rex or spino are much better than alpha dodorexy. It's literally not worth the effort to tame one when you can just breed and imprint the more common and easier alphas.

Alpha giga is very nice, the only problem is its saddles as regular giga saddle won't be equipped.

oh whyyyyyy WHHY! i just check my alpha gigas stats, 35 into stam, 28 oxygen,30 food, 34 speed,26 weight and AND 19 melee 19, 19 19!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
going to tame a dodowyvern to try my luck again.

Alpha gigas are still nice, the biggest problem with alpha gigas is that they have alpha buff and 1k armor saddle. The saddle armor can be overlooked, but the alpha buff sucks compared to boss buff as it makes them do less damage to wild bosses and certain bosses. So I just see alpha gigas as a dino clearing boss, but not a boss farmer.

least they get a buff, just tamed an alpha reaper and it gets no buff whats so ever. still good for taming bosses but the damage is less then a every other boss, Alpha reaper does 11k, brood and mega do 15k, dodowyvern (dodowyvern only has 18 melee AHHHAHHAHAH) and alpha giga do 20k, AND dodorex does 27k.

Damage don't mean much if you take their attack speed into consideration, and how much damage they can do to enemies. In Alpha Giga's case, he does a lot of damage while attacking a lot, but he does like 50% reduced damage to bosses, which his major problem.

If I had to scale the worst to best bosses for in general fighting (without abusing flying mechanics), it'd be...

Mega Ape < Alpha Reaper < Dragon < Manticore < Dodowyvern < Broodmother < Alpha Giga < Dodorex

I don't like listing Dodowyvern and Broodmother as high lol. Dodowyverns are too big and clunky, and Broodmother is just too slow and can't swim.

Primordials are a different story of course.
