1. Poison Metal Arrow: Deals % torpor so 5 should knock any creature out that can be knocked out. Quite expensive if playing at default (intended) gathering rates. Save these for Bosses and high level/torpor Alphas (i.e. Bronto, Rex, etc.). Fires only from the Compound Bow.
2. Shock Darts: Very powerful and your go-to for taming most mid to high level Alphas. They require Bio-Toxin and slowly spoil over time but are cheap to make otherwise. One shot from my 239% Primal Longneck Rifle deals around 13k torpor per shot, counting the over-time-effect.
3. Tranquilizer Arrow: Significantly stronger than vanilla arrows, these deal respectable amounts of torpor but nothing close to Shock Darts. You will use this for most of early-mid game and for nearly all of your underwater tames. My 233% Primal Crossbow deals around 2k topor per shot, counting the over-time-effect.
Additionally, the following alternate taming methods are helpful or even surpass the above items in torpor delivery:
*Alpha Mantis: A decently leveled Alpha Mantis with fully pumped melee can do massive amounts of torpor with a Tranquilizer Pike equipped. With a legendary+ Tranq Pike with decent damage % you can knock most Alphas out in a single leap attack. The only two drawbacks to this method are A. The Mantis goes throw Pike durability insanely fast, and Tranq Pikes are expensive to repair B. You have to traverse to your desired target on the ground, so a high level Mantis is required if you want to travel with relative confidence. Bring high % swords to equip your Mantis with, you'll be able to check most threats you don't want to tame.
*Tranquilizer Pike: If your target is trapped, glitched, in a tree, a rock, etc., You can always conserve ammo and pike them. Tranq Pikes scale with player melee % and can deal quite a lot of torpor if the pike is solid and character has high melee.
*Alpha Dilo: Their right click is a ranged torpor dealing shot with pretty high scaling. It has an impact effect and an effect that applies if you target in the relative area. Their standard bite deals torpor damage as well, but not nearly as much as right click. They can be ridden and not to be taken lightly if you tame a high level one. Drawbacks: Low HP compared to other Alphas, no saddle so no armor, temperamental aiming on right click, and worst of all if the right click lands directly on the target and it was the shot that knocked them out, the impact damage registers after the standard damage so your tame gets post-KO damage that reduces Taming Effectiveness.
I no longer can craft the extinction core tranq arrows instead its the vanilla.
is it because i dont have the mod at the top of my selected mods?
