Translators needed!
TL;DR
I need
  • 28 Display texts (max ~7 characters)
  • 28 Button labels (max ~7 characters)
  • 35 Passwords (exactly 5 characters)
  • Label for the "SUBMIT" button (max ~7 characters)
All of them ideally include homophones and words that can be misunderstood as instructions. There are no limitations regarding accent/umlaut characters.

I plan to expand this module into a configurable multi language mod. I'm searching for people who like to contribute a set of at least 28 words in their language (the vanilla module has 28 display texts and 28 button labels, with an overlap of 11 words which are in both sets).

So if you like, create a new thread here for your language and post a suggestion or comment on suggestions already posted.

Some translation hints:
  • Searching for "Homophones <your language>" in Google can give you some nice ideas for identical pronounced words.
  • For Latin letters translations, words in both sets should not be longer than about 7 to 8 characters (for e.g. Asian letters, other rules apply)
  • Of course the main reason to translate this is to also include these kind of words, that you would naturally say when you play this module, so find words or very(!) short phrases, that you would use in your language. The vanilla module gives a good idea which this can be ("Hold on", "Okay", "Says", "Left"), but personally I belief it might be possible to find even better ones for some cases, which are even more likely to produce misunderstanding. E.g. "It says", "Top left", "Push!"...

EDIT:
I'm also recreating the password module. Would be great if you can also provide a list of 35 words, with exactly five characters each, in your language and a translation of "Submit" (max ~7 characters).
For the German translation I included some of the instruction words like "drück" (press) and "warte" (wait) and some 5 character homophones. The rest is filled with topically fitting words like "Bombe" (bomb), "Draht" (wire), "Angst" (fear), and so on. There are no attempts to produce misunderstandings in the vanilla module, so I leave it as your decision to translate it my way or to keep it like the vanilla module, with 35 "usual" words.

Does the font used supports Hebrew characters? (Here's one to test for: שלום)

Yes! I was looking forward to this. I will think about a Brazilian Portuguese list.

The multi language mod supports switching to a japanese font already, so switching to a Hebrew font shouldn't be much of a deal, if this should be necessary.

I created a new thread for the Hebrew translation here!

Yes! Looking forward to getting your suggestions!

Are you sure you don't mean homophones instead of homonyms?
Anyway in the following days I should be able to give you a list of words for the Italian version of this module.

Yes you're right - I edited the front post.
Looking forward to seeing an Italian word list!

Hi Tharagon, I can try to help you for the italian language, but I'm not committing to the task... I've got too little free time :-)
Let's get in contact via PM for the details.

Hi Xeinar!
Just create a thread for Italian and suggest two sets of 28 words/phrases for the display and the buttons - that's all I need! You can reuse some words from the one set in the other if you like, or reuse all, that is submit just one set of 28 words.

Hi DragnQuest77,
thank you for your suggestions! Please have a look at the suggestions already posted here and maybe comment on which ideas of the first suggestions you consider good and which of your own might be very good, so we can somehow create a "best of".

Hi folks!
I'm making good progress in recreating the password module, too.
Would be great if you can also provide a list of 35 words with exactly five characters in your language.
For the German translation I included some of the instruction words like "drück" (press) and "warte" (wait), although there are no attempts to produce misunderstanding in the vanilla module. I leave it as your decission do do that, too, or keep it like the vanilla module, with 35 "usual" words.

Do you still want translations? I might be able to provide the Finnish word lists.
