Murauder's Update Breaks the Mod
I started a new game to try out the murauders addition. The ultra-violent NPCs are killing off the other NPCs in some gun-fueled darwinian nightmare. The one NPC I found that wanted to group with me was in a gunfight with a couple murauders when I found him. He died from blood loss before I could extract the third bullet from his torso. Now, on a certain level, this is awesome...but there is almost no way to have a companion now. The psychopaths seem to be HUNTING any potential allies. Is there any way to tone this down a bit?

Hi, you can set EnableMarauders = false, to remove them, you can also set DayMaraudingStarts to be greater than 15 days, but that will only give you more time to get armed. Are you using default settings? Any changes to the SurvivorSpawnRateMultiplier? I am planning to make some small edits to the marauders, and I will also take a look at the spawn rate code. How many days into the game are you? This will help a lot. Marauders will gain more guns based on new settings added to spawn more guns over time added. You can turn those off as well.
Right now, a Marauder group should only spawn at max once every 3 game days.

Yeah, I started a new game from "The First Week" and while only ran into 3 groups, it is hard to tell if they are "murauder groups" or just some kind of variation introduced by the new aggressive behavior. There were always "groups" of NPCs in mod, usually with a cluster of backpacks making it look like they were foraging. But now, 3 out of 3 of these kinds of groups that I ran into were hostile from the start and just started showering me will bullets. I have the Drive Cars mod enabled and have to drive around carrying a Riot Shield in order to avoid getting shot while driving. I haven't fiddled with the spawn rates in the Survivors settings Lua, in fact downloaded the whole mod when you guys introduced this. Eventually I got head-shot by these ultra-violent survivors and died. I'll let you know on my next play-through if it still is the same or if this was just RNG working against me.

I submitted changes that will allow you to control the max spawn rate of marauders, as well as what the minimum spawn rate will be. Marauder groups have distinct names now, but hostiles I do not think share their names when they speak. If you are seeing too many marauders, change those values. As far as spawning more hostiles regular survivors and guns over time, this will be over the course of 1 year by default. Also another tweak that will make marauders spawn even less outside of towns.

These changes are on the workshop now. If you see too many marauders, increase the new MaxMarauderRate setting
