Happens with vanilla traders too (when they're working). Nothing I can do unless the devs were to fix it. Happens at your gates too if they want in.

I find that making everywhere you intend to lock private stops it from happening. And if you want to stop them from bashing the gate down, you build a shack outside the gate for the counter. :)
