Arma 3
Overthrow [Outdated]
What I think of the mod
I've been playing this crap long enough to form an opinion

First of all: I will never understand why this thing is uploaded so unfinished "Here you have a mod, what do I care about the errors, see how you can cope with it, I won't do anything more!"

- The police / gendarmerie shoots at you for no reason, for the popiest thing would pass, would have been cool would the AI distinguish between crimes, drugs? Headshot, weapons in the trunk? Headshot, civilian run over? exactly, headshot
- the checkpoints blow you out of the vehicle for a backpack and a tool kit
- The attacks on cities can be completely forgotten under 10-20 hours of extreme farming, if you are not there with five, with machine guns and assault rifles, you have completely lost
- Buying houses is as useless as this "mod" as a whole, no way of renting
- Making money with drugs only works for 1-2 hours, then the price drops so suddenly ... You can only sell weapons if you have influence from ~ 50, without money for weapons and equipment that is useless if you have 300 meters away with which the MP5 is killed

Too bad, very very bad, potential was wasted here

I've played it a couple of times this summer in coop, and it was great. I mean - all the campaign, to the very end.
Yes, it has bugs - especially when you're playing with tons of mods.
But if you're playing with tons of mods - it is your problem.
I fixed some of it, at then started to make my own version of OT.

And I see no reason to blame the mod - it has no analogues.

"The police / gendarmerie shoots at you for no reason" - it is not true. You're carrying anything illegal. No point asking "Why the item #8566 from mod #367543221 v.0.3.456 build 778 wasn't detected as legal item?! This is completely stupid!!!!!". There are too many items, and too many bugged mods.
You like it and you play it, or you don't like it and don't play it, or you do something by yourself.
I don't know any other options for an adult.

But, after all: the game starts once you got a gun. So what's a problem? Just kill them.
I see no reason to walk before them, it is not a civilian simulator.

"Buying houses is as useless as this "mod" as a whole, no way of renting"
Oh, yeah, we have so many free campaigns, where it is not worthless! What a shame...

"Making money with drugs only works for 1-2 hours, then the price drops so suddenly"
Oh My God, I can't turn into the drug dealer... What should I do?! The game is completely broken.

"why this thing is uploaded so unfinished"
Maybe because even in this state it is very enjoyable for most of us?

Man, maybe you've choosen a wrong game?

Lol, your complaints seem very silly.

Cops dont shoot at you for no reason. If you steal a nato vehicle, or use AAF or CSAT military vehicle, of course they will shoot you on sight. AI is not advanced enough to go "Oh that's a NATO vehicle, how will we check if its stolen or not

I started playing on Easy difficulty, made it halfway through the map. Now I'm on hard difficulty. Yes, taking the towns is difficult, but doable. you must recruit civilians and strategically hide them in the city you want to capture. It takes only one mission in a city to get enough influence to recruit citizens, so that can't be a valid complaint you have.

Leasing is also not useless. I have made back the money I spent on houses by buying when stability was 1 and when leased at 100 % stability, they make decent money.

The checkpoints blew you up because you likely did not listen to their command to stop and be searched. If you had illegal goods in your car you will be shot. Or they will see the car was reported stolen and kill you for that.

Drug prices are higher in high stability, lower in low stability.

Legal goods prices are higher in low stability, lower in high stability
