Join a side in the Civil War. Activate the mod, or start the mod on a new game and join the Civil War. When you are on a side, march to area X, whatever that rea may be, and continue to do so until you have found an enemy army. You will see some text in the top left hand side saying you have entered a battlezone skirmish. Fight like hell is behind you and defeat the enemy. When you have done this you will be able to call units in when you are near allies. Continue to fight the enemy until the enemy is broken militarily. Eventually you will defeat the Imperials as a Stormcloak, but I have had problems marching across from Whiterun to Ft. Greymoor or sometimes the zone is generated at the Western Watchtower. Either way, run around for a while and you will see stuff happen.
