How to Build a Round Spiral Tower
Adding a round spiral tower to your boxy base is fairly simple and is a great way to add a route between floors. Not to mention, it looks badass! I created this guide for builders that need a little help getting started.

The Foundation

First, start with the round foundation that wrap one of your corners similar to this:

The Inner Floors

Since we're attaching a round tower to a square structure, just square off the inside corner. This will allow you to add doors and windows (I prefer one-way from the room looking into the stairwell):

Tip #1: Always place your spiral ceiling first, before the spiral stairs. This will ensure that the ceiling pieces snap to the walls and not the stairs.

Tip #2: Place your doors so that they are aligned with the stairs for more efficient travel. For example, when you open the door, you should see the stairs going up/down in front of you.

The Roof

You can end the tower at the roof of the structure, where you can use the overhang battlement pieces along with the straight battlement pieces like this:

Tip #3: To secure the spiral stairs leading down from the roof, you can place a rounded ceiling like in the screenshot. Make sure to test that it was placed correctly by trying to crawl through the opening while prone (you shouldn't be able to). When you need to get through, just lift that ceiling piece and replace it.

Reaching the Sky

Or, you can continue building the tower up above your roof, which you can switch to all round walls since you no longer need to square off the inner corner.

It can eventually look something like this:

Free Standing Tower

You also have the option of adding a free standing tower, that is not part of your structures:

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=779614950

You will notice that I have a squared off, 1 wall hieght, corner at the base of the tower so I could add a double door and window for added security and a little more space for a bed and some storage.

Tip #4 (very important): The round sides that are not snapped to ceilings to other walls (overhang battlements don't count), are only snapped to the walls below it. If you remove a lower wall, it will destroy everything above it. So, if you need to swap out a round wall, pick up everything above it first, or you may lose it.

Securing the Tower Floors

For added security, you can add doors and windows to every floor, which will break up the spiral stairwell route into secure sections.

How do I get the rounded foundations to line up like in the first picture? It only wants to attach the rounded corner to the flat side of the other rounded corner :(

Flip on placement with E, there is also a left and right biased version of the foundations and floors
