Keep Fireplace Cooker ...Cooking?
@CKF | ExileAcid , or anyone who could advise me :p

Firstly, I wanted to say how much I love this mod - the textures are beautiful, and everything blends really well into my existing modpack for my singleplayer experience. I have a great, if unconventionally built, keep up on a hill by the volcano (map: Ragnarok), and when I figure out how I'd love to share some photos!

My question: I have three fireplaces set up next to each other. I figured out the power -> lit fireplace, I figured out how to get the cooking pots irrigated, and the fireplace itself and the rotisserie work fine - but I can't seem to get the cooker to cook. All I did today was put berries, charcoal, sparkpowder and gunpowder in the pot, and waited... and waited... and nothing seemed to be happening. Definitely states that it should be able to make dyes as well as other recipies in the item description, but for the life of me I can't puzzle out how. Am I missing a step? Is there supposed to be a radial menu I'm supposed to select? There was one radial option called 'menu', the 3'oclock position, but it simply closed the radial when I clicked it - still holding E, mind.

If you or anyone else here could provide an answer, I'd be quite delighted - this is the only flaw to my keep's master plan! Thanks for your work on the mod, I really do love it.

I just made dyes before replying to this.

Confirm that the cooking pot says "Water: 1000 / 1000 (Irrigated)" To further troubleshoot, just put in one stack of tintoberries and charcoal with nothing else in the cooking pot. See if that makes dyes.

Something might have glitched. If you can confirm that it says "Water: 1000/1000 (Irrigated)" and it won't make a single color of dye, you may have to pick up the rotisserie, cooking pot and fireplace and put it back down on the ground. You'll lose your irrigation this way but sometimes you have to do it.

I was definitely getting "Water: 1000 / 1000 (Irrigated)" on all 3 fireplaces, but I only tried cooking in one of them yet. I guess I'll go see if any of them will cook, and if they might start cooking a simpler single dye or something. I'll report back. Just to be clear, once I stick the ingredients in the cooker, I don't have to then 'activate' it to start the cooking process, yeah? It should just 'go'?

The only thing you have to activate is the fire. Cooking pot will power with fire under it and start making dyes.

Okay, so I checked it out - oddly enough, two out of my three fireplace cookpots function just fine, only the last one turned out funny. I figured oh well, 2/3 ain't bad for my single player XD. So yeah, when I was trying to cook dyes first, I had just guessed my odds wrong and was using the only nonfunctioning cookpot. Thanks for the repllies AgeAgainst, you were a big help!

It makes the dye pretty quick, not sure why you wanted 3 unless it was for decoration. Glad at least two are working for you!

Well now that I got hundreds upon hundreds of 'em I know, right? =p! I just like to have backups for things. Hell, right behind the fireplaces I have three forges, and off to one side I have FIVE millstones. Excessive, no?

I can't figure out how to get mine irrigated...any tips? Nothing will snap to the pot, and putting a tap nearby doesn't seem to work like it does for crops...
dalsar1601 Sep 28, 2017 @ 9:09pm
You're right, a tap wouldn't work for this like it would for a crop. The fireplace cooker counts as a tank, so it's almost exactly like getting the Industrial Grill up and running, except that the cooking pot is directly a part of the fireplace and itself has two snap points on the right side of the fireplace for the purpose of irrigating the cooking pot.

You can run pipes from the right side of the fireplace either at about ankle or eye level, horizontally out the right side (parallel with the fireplace) or vertically. I also use Structures Plus in my modpack, cuz... Gods, why not?! - so once I had gotten a pipeline close enough to the snap points off the fireplace I conjoined them with one flexible pipe that comes from that mod. It worked pretty well for me, except for some reason that only two of my three cooking pots work... which is really not a problem for me cuz I'm on SP and I know I did something wonky - you should have no trouble. :steamhappy:

Here's a video with step by step. Server I play on has the water bore kit so you can put an intake anywhere:

Thanks everyone! I also use S+....one of the best mods out there, IMO, mostly cause the pull feature is AMAZING. I'll have to look into this water bore one.

Finally got it working. Apparently it is a bit finicky...I was trying to build backwards towards it...it didn't work until I completely demolished all pipes and started from the fireplace. Never could get a pipe to snap to the fabled eye level position though.

Anyways, thanks again!! <3

My pipes do not snap in any way to my fireplace... I've tried s+, regular, on a keep foundation, on a stone foundation and I've tried putting a tap on the end and still get 0/1000 irrigation...

Cancel that. 8th reconfigure was the charm. It still does not irrigate though... I know I have water since I can put a tap on the last pipe and get water ouf of it. Any thoughts?

The order in which you place seems to have some sort of priority. I always do the following:

Foundation
Fireplace
Cooking Pot
Irrigation Pipe
Intake Pipe

It takes a bit to actually fill up to 1000/1000, but it shows irrigated instantly.

It only worked for my when I placed things in the order outlined by AgeAgainst above. If that doesn’t work...well...I’m at a loss. MUST snap the first pipe to the fireplace though, and then work backwards towards your water source.
Spookshow Oct 10, 2017 @ 11:12pm
I've tried snapping from my well to my fireplace, and from my fireplace to my well. Nothing seems to be working. I can place water taps along the pipeline and get water from those so I know the pipes are drawing from my well, but something is preventing the flow from getting to my cooking pot. Any ideas?

Edit: my pipeline is connected to both snap points on the side of the fireplace and on the well I placed in the middle of the room.
