ARK no collision is way better than any mod version of no collision can hope to be(even S+). If you are seeing an obstructed/can't place here message that means you did not enable it correctly(either you did wrong file or you did it with ASM open, etc).
I have never seen an obstructed/can't place here msg with ARK no collision and it solves all of the issues that S+ used to have.
Many many people use S+ fine with ARK no collision and its better than ever! There is a lot of information on the actual S+ workshop page if you are struggling with how to enable it.
The best part of ARK no collision is that is applies to everything, not just a specific mod but everything including vanilla and it allows server admins to choose whether or not they want it(instead of forcing it on everybody).
P.S. Yea i creep your page sometimes Exile :) Sorry for being so S+ focused but its been quite the struggle to get people to accept ARK no collision even though it is superior in every way.
I'm a heavy proponent for S+ and I was hesitant to even say much because I hate shoving my foot in my mouth. Also, people these days have no sense of patience and will often blurt before even testing thoroughly.
I've ran my cluster and servers now for over a year and feel like I do alright with it. I've checked the the game.ini after the server was booted up and it checked out. I restarted the server machine just to make sure. Went through this process four times. And everyone was experiencing the same thing.
I'll probably just back up the servers and reinstall everything. I'm extremely glad if this is the case and the no collisions are what you say. That was my expectations and excitement when I first read about it on your mod.
Again, thank you for the response and I will post here again after doing it this weekend. (real work, YouTube, and hobby video game making.. yay).
If you do run into any issues with placement, feel free to post images/video to the S+ mod page and I will try to replicate it. But since I personally have never had placement issues with the ini correctly set up and not a single person has yet provided an example of ARK no collision not working... the most likely cause is an incorrect ini.
If you use ASM, there is an option within the Structures category which makes the process extremely simple and doesn't require any direct ini editing.
