Advanced Rafts

PLEASE CHANGE RAFT TO BE METAL
The new fish can destroy the large raft in about 10 seconds even with sunk metal foundations...made no diffence.

For those of us that put HUGE amounts of time in our nice rafts/ship please consider this change immediately..

Thank you

Query - has anyone tried building a defensive cage around the bottom of their raft, to stop the leedy getting to their boat? I don't know if the leed can break stone or metal, but if it can't, you could perhaps set up defenses so that it's AoE attack can't reach the raft itself. That way when you see one approaching, you can quickly jump off the raft (to prevent it clipping through the defenses) and your boat will be safe while you take it out.

Gonna try this myself at some point to see if it works, but if anyone else has experience with it I'd like to hear their thoughts too...

The things bypass any structures built on the raft and rash the raft itself. They clip right through. I have been jumping off to do exactly like you say. On my small rafts. My yacht stays parked for now.

Even if it's not moving? I know water creatures can clip through rafts when they're in motion, but I didn't think anything could when it was stopped...

Hmm, if that's the case then that is a bit of a problem, yeah. We at least need some kind of defense against it, even if it's costly to make. Just having a totally unbeatable creature that can waste you so easily with no recourse is not good game design...

It's actually a fun mechanic. even if all it did was the lifts up and stop you would be fun. But The advanced Raft (L) can be taken out in 4 bumps. Whole raft down to Davey Jones' Locker.

I thoroughly tested Leed's Fish behavior and can confirm that they ignore rafts that are unpiloted, but immediately attack any raft that is activated with someone at the tiller. Once initiated, unmanning the tiller does not deter the fish from attack. It shows no interest in the player, but will continue to attack the raft, clipping through any and all protective structures and damaging the raft structure itself, until it is destroyed... then they return to a docile state.
There is no amount of protective construction that will have any effect on this.

Probably the simplest solution would be to either alter the attacks or make Tek Barrier/Forcefield useable on platforms via mod.

Perhaps he can look up the factor that does damage to the boat from the fish and turn that part of it off on the raft. Would still bang you around but the raft would lose no Hp's.

I agree 1000% with this request.

Not true, I'm afraid. I had two boats parked at my dock - one in shallow water and the other further out. The one in shallow water they left alone, but the one further from shore, where the water was deeper, they immediately attacked and destroyed once they'd been added to the game.

+1 to the request to give the rafts metal-tier damage resistance or make the rafts not aggro the Leeds or, better yet, both.

Thats not true they attack stationery unmanned rafts to. My transport raft got smashed while i was riding it and i swam away to a nearby island where a mates (in his own tribe) base is and my mates big ass metal distroyer raft was being attacked and sunk. He wasnt even online at the time.

I've been just using the little sloop to get around. My Tamer 5000 is parked in the hopes this can be addressed somehow. Maybe just give the raft and INI HP adjuster RaftxlHP=500000000

To help some of you till the problem with the Leeds is solved, i will quote my own post from the comment section of this nice mod again:

For all server admins who has love for this mod and for large rafts, disable the Leed spawns on your server. Atleast till someone has a mod to "disarm" their OP behavior or till WC change/nerf them.

Edit your server game.ini by filling in this line:

NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="Leedsichthys_Character_BP_C",ToClassName="")

It removes the leeds from the spawn list.

Don't forget to destroy all wild dinos after server restart to have all allrdy spawned Leeds being gone from your game. If you don't know how to do this, this is the console command:

admincheat destroywilddinos

Once that is done, you can enjoy your rafts again, till the Leed problem is solved in an other way.

Stay save and don't get eaten ;)

Several youtubers tried this tactic, but it did not work.
The huge size of the Leed allows it to glitch through the structures and reach the raft.
Well, at least for the vanila rafts. Someone will have to test for this mod.
