First thing, assigning a work space and having sufficient wood to make coal doesn't work. All I ended up with were stations complaining about no coal.
The pawn would take the wood to the crafting area, consume the 50 wood, and produce nothing. It would happily do this for days on end. Consume wood, produce nothing.
So, without the ability to get coal (nothing from mining, either) the mod is impossible to use. Every station requires coal, and you can't make coal.
So, I had to un-install it, which is a real shame, because it looks like a ton of effort has gone into this.
Game version 1.0.2059. Here's a screenshot showing the failed coal making:

You can see 'Snail' there consuming the 50 wood, and all the other stations requiring coal doing nothing. He did that about 20 times before I gave up.
It's also worth noting that many of the Medieval specific stations still make reference to consuming wood, not coal, making this situation even more confusing and frustrating. Perhaps they could use both? Actual hearths and stoves can use both..
Anyway, hopefully you get the bugs worked out.
