1. There's no way to easily pick up the robots once I've placed them down, killing them is a pain which is good for them doing their jobs, but not for me wanting to move them to another location.
2. There's no way to tell these robots, mainly the mining robot to stop what their doing and give me what they've dug up or to put it into a chest. To put it quite frankly, I'm a greedy mofo and I want what they've got NOW, not when they decide it's time to put it away which unfortunately is a long time. A way to change this would be to keep the current ai, but maybe to add a controller that you can buy that would have all the bots you have active around you on the menu and then you could press a button to recall a bot or even all of them to drop everything they have in a chest, and this menu could even be used to active/deactive the bots as well.
While this mod is very good in it's own right, I don't like using it simply because I don't feel like I have control over the bots, I can choose where they start working, but after that I'm at the mercy of whatever or whenever the bots decide to do what they do
how's about a bot to farm... chickes or equals.
collecting eggs from chickes which are moving around, its not easy.
i know its hard to programm but its just an idea. ^^
hey killer queen the best way i seen to use these bots are while you are on mission to search for clues in a village as you search for the village you drop one miner per screen so lets say you had to walk 12 screens thats 12 seperate mine shafts strip mining the planet while you are at a village searching for clues.
1.dont be: "a greedy mofo and I want what they've got NOW," go multi task while they do their job. you will have much more fun that way. also if your going to strip mine do it really big. drop 1 miner per screen on a world till you get back to your starting point. by the time you are done strip mining an entire world you are rich on an insane level.while they are strip mining the world you could be building a base on top of that world or a little mini outpost. you could even be doing a quest on that world. I stripped three world so far and sold everything i got im sitting about 200000 credits legit.
2. I like your idea "add a controller that you can buy that would have all the bots you have active around you on the menu and then you could press a button to recall a bot or even all of them to drop everything they have in a chest, "
im not the mod author but the guy that made this mod is sitting on a gold mine of endless possible bots that can automate endless task.
A) Each garden bot having it's own specific purpose, slowest for watering and tilling, medium for planting and collecting seeds, fastest for gathering and depositing crops.
B) Crafting recipes for each bot, aligned with the vanilla crafting station and ore tiers: Copper + Silver -> Titanium + Gold -> Rubium/Cerulium/Aegisalt + Diamond. Maybe throw in some of the wiring components like circuit boards/diodes/etc for good measure.
C) Adjust the prices of each bot.
750-1000 is a good entry price for a very slow and basic bot.
Mid-tier bots maybe somewhere around 5k.
High-tier at around 15k.
Lumberjack bot feels like an early to mid-game item, so maybe 3k?
Mining bot feels like a mid to end-game item, maybe somewhere around 10k.
It still tills and waters the ground but it has to be wired to a type of farm gem thing and you can wire the gem to the farm boundaries so what it will do is the (we will call it AI bot for the ease of saying.) AI bot can run as many fams as needed and with the farm gem you actavate it to do what you want to plant. So if it is connected to a wheat and a tomato farm you can set one gem to wheat and the other to tomato so it knows "Plant this here." And with no bot running around there is less pull on the game to load that chunk and because of that it can be set up to have the farms as well as it keep the part of the world they are in loaded so the farms keep running.
The easiest way to reclaim bots you placed is to use the bug net on them, since it kills them instantly.
Just I want to build something HUGE on the "barren" planet (A huge garden, maybe), buuuut... Those mountains... I need a flat field to build this.
Also, Flatmaster shoud be very... How to say it... Low-HP? Because you'll need to delete him before building something.
