It would be nice for the signal from Vaitral event have a chance for the Valin civilization to survive in some capacity! Maybe they blasted themselves back to the iron age rather than completely wiping themselves out, or maybe they didn't bathe their world in nuclear hellfire at all and you find them just as they had finished developing FTL and you could bring them into the fold as a protectorate or something? I just think it's a bit depressing that no matter what, in the end they'll always be dead.

Prison Pod: you find a drifting pod containing a cryo-frozen supercriminal from a long-gone empire. If you recover them, you can gain a new level 5 leader with the Corrupt perk. Or you can give them a fair trial, gaining some unity instead.

It is an interesting idea, and one that may be worth implementing. But is simple anomaly really enough to do it justice?
Solarius Scorch 8 FEB 2019 a las 5:55 p. m.
I think so, yeah; even a comic book supercriminal is not such a big deal at the scales of this game.
Of course it's just an outline, a bit more options should be available; for example Xenophobes would not be interested in recruiting them (as they're a different species), and probably don't care about giving them a fair trial, but should maybe get some Society gain instead (from interrogation). I am still a bit on the noobish side of the game, so I don't want to get too specific.

Is it possible to make an event based on ruler's age?
Applicable to authoritarian empires:
"Today is the day marking 100 years since our <Glorious Leader> has been gracing us with his/her spiritual guidance. For months, the whole nation has been preparing for this opportunity to express its endless gratitude. The streets on <capital> are filled to the brim with cheering citizens of all classes and professions, military parades, sports activities and cultural events.
<Glorious Leader> took this joyful opportunity to address the nation and reiterate the basic tenants of our society, which allow us to survive and prosper in this dangerous galaxy. <He/She> also warned that every provocator or madman who would raised their grasping appendage against this nation will be sure to lose said appendage.
This will keep our citizens busy for some time with their spontaneous and completely voluntary preparations for this exceptional occasion, so some efficiency drop is to be expected, but what are a few minerals worth compared to the immortal spirit of the nation?"
This event causes a 1 year penalty to all production from jobs, empire-wide, but will also increase Unity gain and govt ethics attraction.

It is also possible to design a similar event after ruler's death, only with no ethics attraction but more Unity.

Unfortunately, I do not believe there's any check for age. There's definitely a trigger for when leader dies, but I'm not sure if I could still check his name afterwards.

I think it can be rewarded well enough to avoid the name.
Can we use the title instead?

Inside a shielded world of which a fallen empire has locked away a paracitical life form that will take the science ship rouge and fly it back to the empire capital world where it will crash into it and kill one Pop every month and once all pops are killed will turn the capitol into a toxic world. You either need to destroy the science ship before it arrives or 100% devastate your home planet.

i know i posted this before, but i think with the new law and crime system this would really work. Randomly in the early to mid game or after 2-3 planets or more are settled. You get a message that as your empire expands so to does the issue of law enforcement. There's also the problem of criminals skipping town and going outside your law enforcement's jurisdictions. So an enterprising group of individuals approaches with an idea. What if the government authorized or at least allowed a group of bounty hunters to begin operating within the empire? At that point, you would get about 5 options

1. You refuse

2. You allow them, but provide no support (+5% unity and -5%happines. they fight crime bringing unity, but they are reckless and upset people.)

3. You allow it and put forward support to make it a guild to better control it (say about 1000 energy and 50-100 influence up front, and +5% unity with no unhappiness as they are better organized)

4. Available to militarist or authoritarian empires. you make an official organization of bounty hunters under government control (+10% unity as they have more resources and management. An unhappiness debuff for authoritarian as the funds come from more taxes on citizens, and a -5% to -10% energy for militarists instead.)

5. Available to pacifists and egalitarians. you allow it, but put strict regulations on them (requires influence say about 50-150. +5% and +5% happiness as not only do they help enforce the laws they won't go and possibly upset your neighbors.)

Each of these would also have certain effects on the chances of a few follow up events. Say a major criminal is caught giving you an influence boost. A fugitive is caught in another empire and possibly upsetting them (prevented by option 5.) or even bringing evidence of one of your leaders involved in a criminal group.

I love how your mod adds more thought to the game and hope this idea can get added in to make it even better. I know your busy and thank you for all the hard work.

Is it feasible to make events based on leader traits?
Example: Carefree
Your Scientist put his head into something he shouldn't. You could say he completely lost his head.
A silly example, I know, but it illustrates the point.
If it's possible, then we can have multiple good or bad events for every trait!

For the future of the Vazuran Crisis, if you choose to be their patsy in the Galaxy:

If you have high approval from them, or possibly as the reward of an event chain, one of the Empires they raid at certain intervals will always be one of your Rivals. They will only ever pick one of them during the pulses, because they don't want it to be TOO obvious that you're working with them.

Just a silly anomaly for Ocean and Continental planets:
This planet's ocean water is enriched with a unique combination of chemicals, making it softer and with much lower surface pressure. A <species> can be dropped in this water from almost any height and not suffer any injuries whatsoever! This feature makes the planet ideal for thrill seekers who aren't afraid to get a little wet.
Would grant some sort of tourism bonus, or failing that, just energy.

How about something like a Gold Rush Event where a planet is discovered to have quite alot of precious ores/metals that increases it's immigration attraction due to the influx of migrants to the planet, at the same time, that planet gets a big bonus to it's mineral production for 10 years or so.

Yo I was just in a twitter convo with a fanatical Xenophobe type player and he brought up an interesting concept that could affect empires that have Xenophilia occurring: maybe consider adding the space equivalent of interspecies Std's to the game as a sort of lesser medical crisis that depending on how the player decides to deal with the unconcerning inital reports of a sickness, can spiral into a potential negative trait being added to a species or two... or perhaps a series of tempory or permanent empire modifiers?
moonlitcat 30 MAY 2019 a las 6:54 a. m.
Just thought of this, but what about special events for conquering Fanatic Purifier planets/empires? Maybe their citizens just start throwing themselves upon your garrison troops without even weapons (so weak but very frequent rebellions) or they start committing suicide in vast numbers (pops just begin deleting themselves) or both? Basically, conquering fanatic purifiers will usually lead to the species killing themselves rather than living under xenos. Only stuff like taking a bunch of their young to educate them in your ways or some other awful solution will stop them from making themselves extinct.
