Are you still supposed to see the 30 squad limit after activating the mod?

cant get 256 squad members

i downloaded the mod and it was acting fine it said the proper amount of members 256 but once i got to 30 people it now says the limit is 30 i don't understand how to fix this i need help please. also i have no other mods installed only 256 player count
