I'm not sure if others feel the same, but the current way NCE is implemented could use a tweak. My understanding of it is that the system is mostly swapping stats - so if you have high mobility and hp chances are you have poor aim or will.

This isn't really how things work in real life, although it certainly happens sometimes. It would be nice to roll really good soldiers who are just superior sometimes. IE like in real life.

There is also the problem of the 3hp soldiers. This is a huge loss for how xcom is designed. It is compounded by the fact that these 3hp soldiers seem most likely to not gain HP via level up when Hidden Potential is enabled. I've had numerous that just stay stuck at 3hp.

It would be excellent to have some toolbox options for NCE that would allow us to choose the different styles of implementation. IE a system that does not involve swapping, but just randomizes the stats, so in theory a rookie could exist with 5hp, 80 aim, 50 will, 13 mobility, +10 defense.

Also it would be amazing if we could get the defense stat on the main characater stat page. There is an empty section that it would fit nicely into - right by the 'Hack' score.

Thanks!!

Was just comign to post about this. My 3HP soldiers despite levelling stay at 3HP. I figured getting trained in a class would at least add 1 HP and gaining another level would add some more. But, that's not happening.

I've also noticed that with Hidden Potential I have soldiers whose Aim is stuck with the NCE value. Despite leveling 2-3 times, the stat doesn't go up.

i dont use the NCE because its really bad, the NCE in previous title was a lot more simple and usefull!
its better that NCE only get limited to aim, will and maybe hacking! the rest like dodge,HP, mobility and defense are modified via equipment and skills as you progress through the game!

while using NCE at the moment you can end up with a pool of garbage recruits that totaly destroys your campaign so the current NCE is aweful and short sighted.

Edit:

I looked through the ini files releated to this mod and found out that you can indeed modify the min/max stats on recruits! you can litteraly create your own strict screening. but the ini file is a mess and gonna make your eyes bleed.
