Same here. Tried and tested every other combination (with/without mods) and it's for certain the map that's crashing me. Good map, look forward to seeing it updated

I think The Wyvern is the problem on this map

I thought it was something to do with the water, as it got to loading part of the water and then crashes. Plus my Direwolf was going insane speeds on the water when it was working

from my troubleshooting with others on my server this is what we have found.

-Nvidia only, from 7-10 series atleast
-shigo map only
-looking south causes part of the crash (from north east island). you can play if you login while looking north, still craft, move, fight etc, but the second you look south you crash without report. if you log in facing south, you crash at the end of loading with a report.
-online/offline doesn't matter
-happening on both windows 10 and windows 7 platforms atleast

edit: Also.

Regardless of mode (low graphics, low memory mode etc), graphics level etc

I have an AMD Radeon HD 6900 and am unable to load the map at all. However, my partner has a Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti and his is running perfectly fine. I've tried it in both SP and on our private server, neither work. Hope this helps in some way!

my server discord has dwindled today due to the serving being off until the fix is in. but that helps. haven't gotten much for replies on amd vs intel builds, but i know a few effected are running thread rippers, but others are as well. i can assume because no one with a thread ripper would be running an nvida 7 series.

Im running AMD, is your partner?

He's not, just Nvidia as far as we're aware/can tell. He's now having issues staying online; he went towards the obelisk on Arashi island to try to save our dinos but instantly crashed as he got near. Also tested his dire wolf in water (because we saw someone else mention that) and it was fine. Wiped wild dinos too. I've tested in every mode possible and no luck.

is he playing on a lower end pc? because i'm running everything on epic. from were i'm at on mizuka, if i look south everything on arashi is basically rendered ie, looking south i mentioned which always causes me to crash. if he's on lower end and that southern render that crashes me, crashes him on approach instead of far in the distance.

But then again, even if i lower everything, i still crash turning south from that far away, so idk

His PC is better than mine, but we both have view distance on high. He has epic on world tile buffers and I have low; I wasn't even looking at the mountain range though I've loaded it before and he's never been in that area. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

thats what it sounds like, but people have reinstalled ark and it hasn't helped. unless the games cache isn't wiped when you uninstall, the mod or the game
MechaSauce Feb 11, 2018 @ 2:05pm
more confirmations from my server. Everyone who could still play had NEVER been anywere near the blue obi. everyone who crashes when they look in its direction had. this was confirmed further when 2 people who weren't effected approached it and crashed as soon as they got to the mountains, and are now effected by the same crash issues.

regardless of reinstall, of game or map, the crash still occures for all. I'm assuming the cames cache is saved to personal files on the operating system drive, and doesn't get wiped when you uninstall. but just my theory

I'm unable to reinstall ARK and reinstalling the mod will take far too long to be worth it, so I haven't tried wiping the cache manually. Is the blue obelisk the underwater one? Might be something to do with it.
