BUG: Spawning of Vanilla Dinos [TEMPORARILY SOLVED]
This bug is related to remapping of certain dinos and is not a bug coming from this mod. It's an ARK-bug (aka feature). I will change this to solved once WildCard has solved the bug.

None of these are spawning in as 'AllColors_C'. While not all are that important to us, I thought I'd share the complete list of our current ARK. As far as I can see, it seems to have started at least 2 weeks ago, perhaps with the last update?

I wonder if this issue is also causing our thousands of mosasaur, since they also spawn in as vanilla rather than DCP.

I'm looking into this - Achatina, Pachyrhino and Moschops haven't been added yet. All of the fish and alphas aren't modded either. The rex, raptor and carno should be modded though so not sure why it's broken.

Apparently the issue with raptors, rexes, mosas, carnos and dodos is a bug on Ark's end and is affecting all mods that remap those dinos :( We just need to sit tight and wait for a fix. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZFR_jSryo6mjb3MkvczSZRvDZnRkT1_etW3pH6ay17I/edit#gid=0

The 4 new dinos should be working correctly now though as I have added them to the mod :)

We still, sadly, have the bug where mosasaurus spawns in the thousands (actual numbers using ark-tools are 1000+ for mosa and 250+ for alpha mosa). These spawn in as vanilla/BP_C. I've tried changing DinoSpawnWeightMultipliers for both vanilla and DPC mosa, but so far doesn't change a thing. What has worked is the NPCReplacements, with that I have replaced vanilla mosa to nothing, thus none of them spawn.

Going 2 months without mosas hasn't been easy on our players. But now that new aggressive and hard to tame creatures have been added to the sea, our players could really use some mosas...

Would it be possible to remove the mosa remapping in this mod until they fix the bug in ARK?

Hey @Arksanity Admin. Can you share a bit more info with us by any chance? Specifically:

- What map are you experiencing the over spawning of mosas on?

- What dinos are disabled in your ini files?

- What other mods is your server running?

- Is DCP in first place of the mod load order?

I'm currently playing on a Center map with Dino Colors Plus and spend a lot of time in the ocean doing deep sea loot creates. We aren't having a problem with over-spawning mosas. If you can provide enough info for me to replicate the issue then it would aid us greatly in being able to resolve it.

Thanks so much, and Happy Holidays :steamhappy:

  1. The Island. Haven't had any complaints on Scorched Earth yet... :P Not that many players on The Center, but I've checked a couple of times and never had any massive spawns.

  2. I've only disabled mosa and alpha mosa, due to them spawning in the absurd amounts. Using the following code:
    NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="Mosa_Character_BP_C",ToClassName="") NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="Mosa_Character_BP_Mega_C",ToClassName="")

  3. Rather than listing all mods, check the mod-collection-link below. That is also the order in which mods are loaded.

  4. Yes, DCP is first! Although it was added 1-2 days after the server was setup. Not sure if that matters, this problem started around the patch v248. Server went online 8th October, patch came around 22nd.

You can find the complete config here, but I highly doubt any ini-config actually messes up the mosa spawns. NPCReplacements-code for mosa is not listed there, as I had not intended for it to be a permanent config...

Hoping to setup a test-server once the physical server owner returns for holiday. He did some sloppy work when configuring the Linux server so I've only got 32gb disk space (out of 128gb). Using ARK Tools[survivetheark.com] I can see that all spawns of mosas on TheCenter is DCP. Just rechecked TheIsland. Removed the code above, destroywilddinos, restart server, and mosas are back at 110 already... not sure what the standard spawning of mosas are with 1x dinospawn, but these are all in vanilla.

I understand this could be result of a mod-conflict, but since both TheIsland and TheCenter is running the same config and same mods, and only TheIsland is spawning in vanilla mosa, I assume it's related to map or DCP. None of the other mods are supposed to change any dinos...

Thanks so much for the detailed reply. My understanding is that you've talked to @Kiety and that it's resolved as best it can be until Studio Wildcard make some changes at their end. If there is anything still pending, or you run into other problems, please let us know and we will do our best to help :steamhappy:

Yep! Thanks for all the help! I'd like to commend you on all your support. Looking forward to the Valentine's Day Event! :D

Yeah, just did a wipe yesterday and the mosa spawns are still insane. I hope they fix it soon.

I have the weirdest of update to this bug... short story time...
We have some new players complain about being unable to breed rexes, which I thought could be because some are vanilla and some are DCP. But that wouldn't make any sense for players who started playing this year, when the bug of vanilla rexes has been since October/November. Turns out they had just tamed them too. So I used ARK Tools to extract the tamed classes and look through the "Rex_Character_BP_AllColors_C"-file, and wouldn't you believe, they actually had DCP rexes... Turns out they had been traveled to SE with them.

This is a cluster server, so after testing we found out if you upload and download a vanilla rex, it turns into a DCP rex. Doesn't have to actually be downloaded on the other server.

How? Why? I have no idea. What to do with this information? No clue. But here it is. So far only tested on rexes.

I guess if you have tamed vanilla dinos before devkit and this mod is updated, you could use this method to turn vanilla dinos into DCP dinos for breeding purposes.

Minor update
Might have been this way all the time, but just now noticed that on SE, rexes spawn in as DCP dinos. Not sure if that is purely random luck or the spawn bug is related only to TheIsland?
Kirbicus  [developer] Jun 24, 2017 @ 11:11am
The spawn bug applies to The Island and The Center, I assume there's no alpha rexes or alpha rexes are spawned in differently on SE so it doesn't break rex remapping :/ Yay WC!

Im using this mod on my ragnarok server but we noticed that all the flyers we tame are unable to level their movement speed, even though we have classic flyers, is this just part of the mod or a bug?
Arksanity.com Nov 8, 2017 @ 5:04am
This mod isn't compatible with Classic Flyers. You'd have to use their own version of this mod. Personally I'd avoid using either mod until the mod devs come back from MIA. You might get lucky if Classic Flyers are loaded after Dino Color Plus? But usually mods that change and remap dinos don't really work well together...
