Stop Wasting My Time - WotC
Mod Status
Can anyone confirm that the WotC version still works? It's the only mod I have installed (and enabled) but it's not working :(

Last I checked it was still working (and every one of the many times someone has reported it's not working, it ended up being an issue on their end).

How are you confirming that it's not working?

I am also having problems. I subscribed and enabled, and it does not appear to be working. Is there a step I'm missing?

Yeah I used the pre-wotc mod back in the day and it was great, but this one's not working unfortunately.

Try loading it with the alternate mod launcher[github.com]. The default launcher has some, er, issues.

None of the features offered by the mod appear to be working. Enemies still have reveal animations, they still point at stuff, all weapon animations are still present, etc.

Been using the alt launcher. The animations still play every time, weapon animations, and in some cases are so delayed they actually increase the time spent on actions.

This mod does not disable weapon animations. IIRC the only animations that are removed are the enemies randomly pointing, and only in the WotC version.

I have the same issue. Was working for me last year with WotC but then I uninstalled and reinstalled the game this year and now e.g. flying the Avenger in the flying-around-the-planet-view is slow like default. I also tried starting with the different modlauncher, no impact. I wonder if it's because of the uninstall/reinstall? Is there a way to create a clean install + then try and reinstall the mod? The only other mod that I have seems to work fine (direct avenger UI from geoscape). Thanks for a great mod anyways, it was super useful during my first 200hrs :)

The final config files are stored in
C:\Users\<username>\Documents\my games\XCOM2 War of the Chosen\XComGame\Config
Try deleting that folder. Also try subscribing/unsubscribing to the mod.

I unsubscribed, closed steam, deleted the config file, relaunched steam, resubscribed... still no luck.

Also the alternate launcher won't detect it no matter what I try (tried manually adding the xcom2/xcomgame/mods folder and copying the mod files there, tried manually adding both that folder and the steam/workshop/content/268500/620600092 folder to the alternate launcher mod directories... nothing.
It's the only mod I'm running.

*edit* and ♥♥♥♥, now the launcher won't even recognize it. I unsubscribed, closed steam, relaunched steam, resubscribed, reloaded launcher... nothing.

Many thanks for the time and effort that the developers and modders put in this mod, but yes, I don't think it's working.

I'm fairly certain that this, for example, "Revealed enemies cinematic time" is not working; it's super obvious when playing a Reaper in Shadow mode discovering enemies. And this pause is so annoying; it's seriously compromising the flow and fun of the game when you play it for many hours.

I truly don't understand why Firaxis just doesn't sort this out from their end via a patch, at least by giving us the OPTIONS to remove these pauses. This way, those who want them can keep them, and we can just remove this crap as people who play the game for tens of hours on end.

@Rok Wisdawn: This mod does not remove the "revealed enemy" cinematics. It removes the pointless 1-2 second pause that occurs afterwards.

Guys, for those who say that it's not working, maybe check if you have zip mode enabled in the Gameplay tab of the Settings. It might be disabled that's why there is no effect.

That's my 2 cents on the matter though.

No, zip mode should be disabled for use with this mod. The intention was for the changes to be subtle, so during normal gameplay you wouldn't even notice they were there. Zip mode is decidedly NOT subtle.

I think the issue is that people think this mod removes a lot of animation. It doesn't, it only reduces the 2-second pauses after the animations finish.
