TACOM: Message received: [“No groups available”]
I’m following the Alive Quickstart to the letter on the Tanoa map and I keep getting this message when I turn on debugging. I’ve tried the basic NATO and CSAT per the quck start guide, I’ve tried NATO/CSAT Pacific, I’ve tried adjusting the group mix (Infantry, Mech, Spec Ops, etc). Nothing seems to work. It’s like this map doesn’t do NATO/CSAT. But I notice I get the same on many other maps. Am I correct in assuming that maps/terrains have faction restrictions and, if so, how do I find out what factions are allowed on a map, or alternatively adjust the map so the factions I want are allowed?

That's nothing to worry about. OPCOM will update the objectives list on each decision/action cycle and send order to TACOM. If all groups are currently assigned to objectives, TACOM reports back "no groups available." You either need fewer objectives, or more groups!

There are no restrictions on maps or factions.

Hrm, ok, that makes more sense and I think what might have confused me here is the message is coming up even as no units are spawning on either side, which led me to believe it might be a factions issue. I will try increasing the number of groups and see if that does something. Thank you!

I tried adjusting the force numbers and it doesn’t do anything, so that can’t be it. Also, I notice that the message appears for all objectives everytime OPCOM instructs to attack an objective. So TACOM for some reason is saying there’s no groups available no matter what. Remember, this is following the Quickplay instructions to the letter, but for Tanoa. No units are spawning, at all on either side.

I figured it out, somewhat.

1) The Quick Start Guide instructions are wrong. Every placement module needs to be synced with eveyr other placement module or it simply doesn’t work, period. To be fair, there’s an image which illustrates that but the text instructions don’t follow what the image says.

2) The only way to get it to spawn anything is to place units yourself, don’t sync some of them to the AI commander, then eventually it starts spawning units as it should. It’s like it needs a little push or something.
