Immersive Overlays

What would you want for a new version of this mod?
This mod hasn't been updated since 2015, amazingly still works, and is a staple of every game I've ever played. It's wonderful! But if this were to get an update, what would you want to see added or adjusted?

There often seem to be comments about the overlays obscuring too much vision and triggering at too low a level, so tweaking those scales or possibly mixing effects for critical levels could address that concern.
Are there any statuses that have been added that aren't reflected in the current overlays? Maybe mixing in audio as well? improved animations?

More overlays, boredom makes colors slightly duller.

Like everything looked slightly gray when bored?

Adding to that, I'd say that boredom makes everything slightly greyscale, while sadness will completely greyscale everything and darken your vision a bit and they can stack

Yo bro's.

No idea if I can pull that off, haven't had a look at the game in 8 years. But I have leveled up my coding in the meantime. So I am fixing it up now and seeing what I can do to improve it.

I noticed in-game that being tired already does this, so adding another darkening effect will even make night-eye characters unplayably blind. The greyscale idea is superb though

I can do greyscale pretty easily. As can I do droplets of rain on the screen. But the issue is more linking the shader itself to some ingame information. So I have to run off of things that I can identify in the current set of shaders.

I'll know more in a couple of days when I go through it all.

I think overall this mod is really good. I love it, but can't use it currently as when I did try to use it, I was always a little hot in game from wanting to wear some protective clothing during the summer. But seeing that overheating has no real consequences other than an increase in thirst, I don't feel the need to always blare red on my screen like I'm dying of a heat stroke. That's really the only one I would want to be able to turn on/off.

The rest is well implemented enough that I enjoy. Personally, adding other overlays to boredom or depression would be cool to see, but I don't see a need for those. The only one I might think of is for panic but I can't imagine any overlay style for it that wouldn't be too intrusive. Keep up the great work and can't wait to see what else you're planning to do with this mod.

Awesome man, thanks for the feedback on that. Yeah I would ideally love to have these things (like threshold to start displaying the overlay at) set ingame.

An option to change opacity? I play a hardcore survival version using a winter mod. Would be nice to lessen the visual effects just a little bit since it's generally ALWAYS freezing.

I gotta agree, an opacity setting would be great.
That and the ability to enable/disable individual overlays (For example minor overheating but not moderate or extreme.)

It would be nice if overlays were a bit more detailed, with higher quality textures but also more subtle at the same time. Maybe appearing with higher opacity and all the details at the borders of the screen while appearing with much lower opacity at the center of the screen.

if the moodle sadness goes up to level 4 it makes the color contrasts slightly more blue

also blood fixes so when you die newly made charter is free of overlays instead of getting bloody on spawn
