- First read the manual. It alowes you to connect the genny.
- Then place the genny ->Outside<- the house, can be on the roof too. Just nerver inside. You can die from the smoke.
- Now right click on genny and "connect"
- Take the Gas can in your primary inventoty, right clock on genny and "refill" or something like that
- Last: Right click on Genny and "turn on" i guess.
Thats it. The hole area around the genny has power. So you can power on a gas station to to get fuel after the power is off.
Thanks Hasi :) You be a real helpin', mon!
concerning solar plant, it s crazy to build, you need a lot of electrical clamps (you can install a mod to make it easier and craft them) but really worth the grind to level 7. it wont run if you get out of the area you powered it on, though, but it s a silent power generator. also you can take it with you in a backpack and plug it to the buildings you visit (sealed storage rooms, access from roof with sledgehammer), very useful to have lights on in those places.
and of course, for gas stations.
solar panel feels like cheating, but it depends on how you play, cartoon or survival. i like cartoon style :)
Try and be quick at the petrol station, I just had a total disaster where the noise of the gen attracted a horde, they gathered round the gen and then I could not turn it off. It had almost ran out before I had lured most of them away. A total waste of a few days.
And for some reason I have to unplug and replug my generator every single morning or it won't freaking work.
oh. so i guess the battery array used to build it is purely cosmetic, and that i had hallucinations while using it at night and having power in my cabin by the lake.
please check what you advice.
"for some reason" unplug/replug bug has been explained a long time ago. google is your friend.
