Dota 2 Horde Mode

Suggestions
The pace of this game is quite stressful. You do not get much extra time to farm jungle or additional camps, unless someone else can carry your burden while you do it. It would be nice if the waves would come with some longer pauses inbetween, and be perhaps a bit bigger when they do. Same amount of creeps, just more time to go to jungle and other things like push towers.

As it is now, while enjoyable, it requires your hero to have an AoE skill to farm the waves, and it requires that you get solo farm, or someone like Wisp to support. And when the waves get harder, you are seriously screwed if you chose a farming hero without any of these things. Doesn't matter how well you played, you just don't have time to defend your lane and farm enough at the same time.

If you allowed for more time between waves, it would make a lot more heroes viable for this game mode. With the cheap and very useful bots and blink dagger, it would allow you to flit all across the map to farm and accomplish objectives.

I am serious here. Anyone listening?

There is plenty of time to do anything you've just describe.. Alteast, everytime I play, I can push and def and cut my part of creep wave at the same time.

If you have no AoE, get yourself some tankiness and attack speed, and thats it.

No, there is no time to do anything I've just described. If I try to farm jungle while bot, I can hardly reach the camps before the next wave comes in lane. There are other objectives on the map, like the ogre, the self-stacking camp in dire jungle, but it all depends on someone else in your team being able to hold your lane while you are doing this. If not, you start losing towers and barracks.

The "suicide bomber" creeps are really quite annoying. They are impossible to see, and they can deal like 900 damage and oneshot you. I was literally chain killed by such just now, and the wave kept growing as we were unable to kill it off while being dead. The boss with the finger of death and other mini-bosses with burst damage make the game rather hard.

The wave with the catapults also in almost every game costs towers and barracks. It is a bit too OP.

I don't mind the game being hard, but it should at least be hard in a predictable way, a difficulty that you can counter. Not "Oh, there was a suicide chicken in that wave, you're dead." or "Oh, here comes the catapult wave, say goodbye to your barracks"

Nye is working on reducing the mech wave a bit, I know.

Most problems disappear if you think about your armor. Like seriously. Suicide Squad(Techies skill), does physical damage, which can be easily and greatly lowered by ring of basilius and chainmail. Problem you have with Nyx is because you ignore stat items like bracers, wrath bands, or even headdress for that matter. +4-5 to strenght can save your life from being one-shot by Nyx. Not to mention, that armor would greatly reduce any incoming damage from wave creeps, increasing effectiveness of lifesteal and regen items.

Block damage items are your friends at the starting phase of the game. In the late game, you better exchange your Vanguard or Poor mans shield for HoT or HoD\HoO, because shields do least effect when facing creeps with fast attacks for over 100 damage.

I almost always buy Headdress and Ring of Regen, so I'll have stable +9 hp regen, In union with Ring of Basilius, Chainmail and Poor mans shield, that greatly improves my survivability, allowing to just stand in place and tank almost any damage that goes at me. Further with the waves, I finish Vladmir, so in bad case, my team will have some hp regen, mana regen, armor and lifesteal too. I've seen lots of situations, when one Vladmir can actually make a difference, and turn the fail game around.

If you want some solo and effective farm, I would recommend you to clear up 3 ancient spawns by the left side of the map. I love them 3 camps because of distance it takes to get to each. Time it'll take you to start with first camp and finish the third camp is roghly a minute, so when you finish the last one, you can just turn around and proceed non stop. Just make sure you have enough damage, armor and\or regen to withstand ancient creeps damage. You don't have to own a Battlefury for that matter, ancients are pretty weak(in compare to other lane creeps).

Self stacking camp is only supposed to be farmed after Ogre Basher boss killed(in a timely matter, not exact matter), only then its fully "stacked".

i believe that camp is fully stacked at 20:00
I would say poor man's shield can be a lifesaver early game, especially in conjuction with boots of regen. Damage block + hp regen works great! Combined with lifesteal and heart and your survivability is much better. I've also found the horde stick to be very useful, +7 stats and ability to restore mana and health.
