If you have no AoE, get yourself some tankiness and attack speed, and thats it.
The wave with the catapults also in almost every game costs towers and barracks. It is a bit too OP.
I don't mind the game being hard, but it should at least be hard in a predictable way, a difficulty that you can counter. Not "Oh, there was a suicide chicken in that wave, you're dead." or "Oh, here comes the catapult wave, say goodbye to your barracks"
Block damage items are your friends at the starting phase of the game. In the late game, you better exchange your Vanguard or Poor mans shield for HoT or HoD\HoO, because shields do least effect when facing creeps with fast attacks for over 100 damage.
I almost always buy Headdress and Ring of Regen, so I'll have stable +9 hp regen, In union with Ring of Basilius, Chainmail and Poor mans shield, that greatly improves my survivability, allowing to just stand in place and tank almost any damage that goes at me. Further with the waves, I finish Vladmir, so in bad case, my team will have some hp regen, mana regen, armor and lifesteal too. I've seen lots of situations, when one Vladmir can actually make a difference, and turn the fail game around.
If you want some solo and effective farm, I would recommend you to clear up 3 ancient spawns by the left side of the map. I love them 3 camps because of distance it takes to get to each. Time it'll take you to start with first camp and finish the third camp is roghly a minute, so when you finish the last one, you can just turn around and proceed non stop. Just make sure you have enough damage, armor and\or regen to withstand ancient creeps damage. You don't have to own a Battlefury for that matter, ancients are pretty weak(in compare to other lane creeps).
Self stacking camp is only supposed to be farmed after Ogre Basher boss killed(in a timely matter, not exact matter), only then its fully "stacked".
