I think what walter-black313 is referencing is that in the Ikwan civil war if you assign the generals they get unassigned after a bit. I had the same problem, it was either when using force attack, unpausing, or other actions related to that army group.

Also on that path under the fascist branch with the Ikwan or Child of Destiny, when you get down to the focuses that give claims and wargoals the focus called "Destroy the Hashemites" gives a wargoal on "." I assume it's meant to be a war goal on Iraq?

The issue of giving war goals to national foci has been fixed, but this general is a really strange bug. I have tested it several times and it has never happened. If you mean that after sending a general, the general's image disappears after a while, but he is still in office, then this is actually a bug of Paradox Interactive.
