I crafted several hundred weapons and never got one. I had 320+ in Smithing and all Tier V Parts
The formula works like this:
(Tier of Part 1 + Part 2 + Part 3 + Part 4) / 4
For example: (5 + 5 + 5 + 5) / 4 = 5
If the result is higher than 4.5, the weapon can be Legendary.
However, in the mod, most weapons only consist of 3 parts. The game still divides by 4, so the calculation becomes:
(5 + 5 + 5) / 4 = 3.75
That means the threshold for Legendary is not reached.
To fix this, I edited the part tiers in the .xml file and set them all to Tier 7. That gives:
(7 + 7 + 7) / 4 = 5.25
Now the average exceeds 4.5, and voilà – I was able to craft Legendary weapons.
As I found out, the game devs eventually patched this issue by changing the formula to divide by the actual number of parts instead of always dividing by 4. I’m not sure whether this fix has also been applied in the mod.
that most certainly the answer, thanks bro!
can you say which xml you edited?
Its in the steam workshop folder, you have to hassle through all the numbered folders till you find one that has a Module folder in it, there is a crafting_recipes.xml file.
the more mods you have the harder the search but i filtered by date of last edit. Since the mod came out recently i could pinpoint it in a few minutes.
was it something like this ModuleData > CraftingPieces > (weapon-type)_pieces.xml?
if so, they are no longer appear in the smithing after i changed the tier. is there anything that you changed beside the tier?
Ah yes sorry i forgot to mention the dont appear in the crafting ui after changing the Tier, but you can still use them trough crafting history or randomizer, what i reccomend is changing the T 5 Hilt into T 10 or so and leave the rest unchanged then you can just randomize till it selects the T 10 hilt and then select the T 5 Blade and handle yourself. This way it will be high enough to get Legendary.
as of now you can't craft legendary at all, you probably looted legendary or earn it in the arena, you literally can't craft legendary as of now because of what is explained here (aka with 3x5 tier part you can't reach the legendary requirement you must have 4, it was fixed in one of the bannerlord update but probably was not for the mod/got missed.
this probably will be fixed in the future tho.
This is what I thought would be the case til I tried it. Had no issue crafting legendary naginatas, it worked perfectly fine.
So it seems its working for some of us but not for others?
Are Naginatas a exception? Or did you also craft other Weapon Types? And how consistent is it?
I crafted maybe 200 Naginatas and not single a one was legendary
